JOB OVERVIEW

We are a growing Australian technology and local-media business seeking an experienced review lead to guide a small remote team checking city-focused news websites for content and user-experience issues.

This is a long-term, remote, part-time independent-contractor role starting at approximately 20 hours per week. You will maintain review quality, coach tea ---------- mbers and ensure reported issues are accurate, useful and non-duplicative. This is a hands-on role: you will review samples and difficult cases as well as lead the team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Set clear review standards, examples and evidence requirements.
• Quality-check samples of issue reports for validity, clarity and duplication.
• Resolve borderline cases involving local relevance, accuracy, images, links, forms and site usability.
• Give concise feedback and coaching to reviewers and researchers.
• Track recurring errors, calibration gaps and training needs.
• Maintain a fair method for prioritising high-impact issues over cosmetic findings.
• Escalate sensitive or uncertain cases with evidence and a recommended next step.
• Produce a short weekly summary of quality, output, risks and improvements.
• Update checklists and guidance as the review programme develops.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
• Experience leading or quality-checking content review, QA, moderation, research or editorial work.
• Excellent written English and strong attention to detail.
• Sound judgement about factual accuracy, geographic relevance and actionable evidence.
• Confidence giving respectful, specific feedback and handling disagreements consistently.
• Good spreadsheet or issue-tracking skills.
• Reliable availability and accurate timekeeping.

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE
• Website QA, digital publishing, local news or content operations.
• Leading a small distributed team.
• Creating rubrics, sampling plans, quality scores or reviewer training.

ACCESS AND SECURITY
This role does not require privileged production access. Work will use public websites and approved issue-reporting tools. Never include passwords, private customer data, confidential reports or another client's proprietary material in your application. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to sign confidentiality and intellectual-property terms before receiving scoped internal information.

HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED
• A high percentage of valid, non-duplicate findings.
• Consistent decisions across reviewers.
• Clear reports requiring little follow-up.
• Measurable improvement after feedback and calibration.
• Early escalation of uncertainty or quality risks.

HOW TO APPLY
Apply through this platform with a short introduction, your CV or work history, your hourly rate within the advertised range, your weekly availability, and brief answers to the three questions below. Please keep each answer to 2–4 sentences. Generic applications that do not answer the questions will not be considered.

1. Describe a review, QA or moderation team whose work you quality-checked. What standards did you use, and what improved?
2. Two reviewers disagree about whether an issue is valid and locally relevant. How would you d ---------- and document the outcome?
3. What should a weekly quality report contain if leadership needs useful signals rather than a long activity list?

PAID ASSESSMENT
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a paid, time-boxed exercise using sample issue reports and public pages. You will identify valid, duplicate and unclear findings, explain your decisions, and give concise reviewer feedback. No access to any live production system is required.

We offer long-term work, predictable weekly hours, clear standards, respectful collaboration and the opportunity to shape a growing quality-review programme.
