We’re an Australian property renovation and flipping business managing 20–30 active sites at any given time, with plans to scale significantly.
We’re looking for an experienced interior and landscape designer to provide practical, budget-conscious design guidance across multiple residential projects on an ongoing basis.
This is not a role focused on high-end concepts or design for design’s sake. We need someone who understands renovation budgets, buyer appeal and how to improve a property’s value without overcapitalising.
What you’ll be doing
- Reviewing new renovation projects as they enter the pipeline
- Recommending practical floor plan improvements and cosmetic upgrades
- Selecting finishes, colours, fixtures and materials suited to the property and budget
- Assessing outdoor areas and recommending landscaping improvements that increase street appeal
- Preparing clear design concepts, marked-up plans, mood boards or selection schedules
- Identifying where to spend, save or retain existing features
- Keeping recommendations current, commercially sensible and easy to execute
- Coordinating with our project manager to ensure plans translate smoothly on site
- Adjusting recommendations when budgets, timelines or site conditions change
What we’re looking for
- Strong residential interior design experience, ideally across renovations, flips or investment properties
- Experience designing practical outdoor or landscape spaces
- A commercial eye for what helps sell a property, not just what looks good
- Confidence working within tight budgets and making quick, practical decisions
- Ability to manage several projects at once without losing track of details
- Clear communication and reliable turnaround times
- Comfortable working remotely from photos, videos, floor plans and site information
- Proactive, organised and able to work without being chased
Experience with Australian residential property, renovation standards or buyer preferences would be highly regarded.
Engagement
- Ongoing fractional contractor role
- Work assigned as new projects enter the pipeline
- Hours may vary depending on project volume
- Some availability during Melbourne business hours will be required
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a small paid trial
How to apply
Please include:
- A 2–3 minute Loom video introducing yourself, outlining your relevant experience and explaining why this role interests you
- A portfolio showing both interior and outdoor or landscape work
- Two or three examples of renovation projects where you worked within a defined budget
- The tools you use for plans, concepts and design documentation
- Your availability, turnaround time and hourly or project rate
Please speak naturally in your Loom rather than reading from a script.
Applications without a Loom video and relevant portfolio examples will not be considered.
