JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You'll be working for a premium pet care company in Sydney, Australia. One of the city's most trusted providers of dog walking and pet care services. Every day, our field team of walkers and sitters cares for pets across Sydney, and behind them sits an operations team making sure every service happens on time, safely, and to a premium standard.

That's where you come in. This role exists to support our Operations Manager and lighten her load. Handling the day-to-day coordination so she can focus on other projects. It's a crucial hire for us. we're looking for someone who moves fast, thinks ahead, and doesn't wait to be told.

This starts as a part-time position (25 hours per week, hours aligned to Sydney business hours) with the clear goal of moving to full-time once you've proven yourself, and that can happen very quickly for the right person.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Managing pet service requests day-to-day and coordinating changes across multiple pet care services (walking, sitting, boarding, feeding visits)
- Making sure accurate information flows between ALL parties, Office, field team, and clients so every service is completed safely and to the highest standard of care
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers: service status, schedules, and pet-related enquiries
- Liaising with walkers and sitters to resolve issues, delays, and coverage gaps quickly and professionally
- Solving coverage problems under pressure — when a tea ---------- mber calls in sick or resigns, YOU work out who covers their dogs and pet sits, fast, before services are missed
- Proactively managing team time-off and liaising with our HR team so we always have coverage where we need it
- Treating every client and every pet as unique, understanding individual requirements and adapting. One size never fits all in pet care.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

- Previous experience in logistics, scheduling, or operations coordination
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, you close the loop on every enquiry, every update, every time
- The ability to work autonomously. You identify issues before they happen, not after
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Experience with scheduling software and CRM tools
- The ability to move quickly and prioritise under pressure. Calm head, Fast hands
- Commitment to continuous improvement and premium customer service, starting with speedy response times

WHAT WE OFFER:

* Stable, long-term role with a growing company
* Genuine path from part-time to full-time: based on performance, not tenure
* A supportive team that values people who take ownership

HOW TO APPLY:

Start your application with the word PAWS so we know you read this far.

Then include the following three things:

1. Your CV, upload it with your application.

2. A brief intro (short paragraph): tell us how your previous experience and skills translate to this role, and why you'd be the perfect fit. Don't rewrite your CV connect the dots for us. If you've coordinated schedules, managed field teams, handled last-minute chaos, or kept multiple moving parts on track, that's what we want to hear about.

3. Your answer to this scenario (5-8 sentences):

"It's 6:45am. A walker messages to say she's sick and can't work today. She has 8 dogs scheduled between 9am and 3pm. Walk me through exactly what you'd do in the next 30 minutes."

? Extra points: include a short video (1-2 minutes, Loom or phone recording is fine) introducing yourself and telling us why you're the best fit for this role. Not required , but the applicants who do this jump straight to the top of the pile. This role is all about clear, confident communication, so show us yours.

A note on AI: you're welcome to use whatever tools you like but understand that most applicants will paste this into the same engine and send us the same generic answer, and we can spot those instantly. The applications we shortlist will show real coordination experience: the details, trade-offs, and instincts that only come from having actually managed a schedule under pressure. Write it like you've lived it, because we're hiring someone who has.
