Hi!
We're Emma & Adam, a couple from Australia launching a premium travel YouTube channel. We create entertaining travel videos featuring luxury hotels, flights, all-inclusive resorts, food, experiences and honest reviews—with plenty of humour and banter along the way.
We're not looking for someone to simply cut clips together.
We're looking for a creative storytelling editor who can become a long-term partner and help build an amazing YouTube channel with us.
If you're passionate about YouTube, understand what keeps people watching, and love creating videos that people genuinely enjoy, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
We're aiming to publish 2–3 long-form YouTube videos per month ("hero" content).
4–8 Shorts/Reels per month cut from those same videos, with the occasional Instagram Reel.
Each episode will generally be 15–25 minutes long.
Your role will be to transform raw footage into engaging stories that people want to watch until the very end.
The Style We're Looking For
We want our videos to feel:
Story-driven
Fast-paced
Funny
Authentic
Cinematic when appropriate
Premium without feeling over-produced
Occasionally including bloopers and personality
The focus is always on personality and storytelling, not just beautiful scenery.
Some creators whose style we enjoy include:
Dane & Stacey
Lisa & Josh
We're not looking to copy anyone—we're building our own style—but these channels give a good indication of the pacing and viewer engagement we're aiming for.
Your Responsibilities
You'll be trusted to:
Build an engaging story from raw footage
Keep the pacing tight and entertaining
Remove unnecessary sections
Highlight funny conversations and genuine reactions
Select music that matches the mood (not fluffy, generic travel music but think electronic, trance, hip hop vibes)
Add tasteful sound effects where appropriate
Perform colour correction and audio balancing
Create modern titles and graphics (not flashy emojis or overstimulating graphics)
Add captions when they improve the viewing experience
Advise if voice overs are recommended
Deliver polished YouTube videos ready for upload
We're looking for someone who enjoys making creative decisions, not just following instructions.
If you have ideas that make the video better, we want to hear them.
The Person We're Looking For
You:
Have experience editing YouTube content
Understand audience retention and storytelling
Know how to create strong hooks that keep viewers watching
Have excellent English comprehension
Communicate well
Are reliable and meet deadlines
Enjoy travel or lifestyle content
Want to build a long-term working relationship
Bonus points if you've edited travel, lifestyle or vlog channels before.
Please Include in Your Application
Please answer all of the following:
A short introduction about yourself.
Links to your best YouTube editing work (travel or vlog content preferred).
Which YouTube channels you've edited for.
Which editing software you use.
Whether you charge hourly or fixed-price (fixed price preferred)
Your typical rate for a 15–25 minute YouTube video.
Your typical rate for a YouTube short / reel.
Your average turnaround time.
Where you're located.
Which YouTube travel creator do you think has the best editing, and why?
Share one video you've edited that you're most proud of and explain exactly what you contributed to the edit.
Trial Edit
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a paid trial edit using footage from our first travel episode.
This gives both of us the opportunity to see whether we're a good fit before moving into an ongoing working relationship.
A Small Request
To show you've read this entire job post and pay attention to detail, please begin your application with the words:
"Let's travel."
Applications that don't include this phrase are unlikely to be considered.
Our Goal
We're not just hiring an editor.
We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us over the coming years—someone who enjoys contributing ideas, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of building a successful YouTube channel from the ground up.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
