JOB OVERVIEW

Full-time / Part-time (flexible)?Hours per week: 20–40 ?Salary: Competitive (based on experience) + possible cleanup bonus – please state your expected monthly rate

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Xero Specialist who can also act as our CFO / Financial Controller.
You will take full ownership of our financial operations in Xero, with a strong focus on European VAT, accurate reporting, cash flow management and strategic financial advice.
In the first phase there is also an important cleanup (opkuis) of the current books and Xero setup. A performance-based cleanup bonus can be discussed for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and optimize all accounting processes in Xero
• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and journal entries
• Take ownership of the cleanup / opkuis of historical data and current Xero file
• Ensure correct handling of European VAT (EU VAT rules, reporting and compliance)
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Improve Xero workflows, chart of accounts and reporting structure
• Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to the leadership team
• Coordinate with external accountants when needed

Requirements (must-have)
• Strong hands-on experience as a Xero Specialist (Xero Advisor Certification is a big plus)
• Experience with European VAT (EU VAT)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Bookkeeping
• MBA
• Proven experience as CFO, Financial Controller or senior accountant
• Ability to clean up and restructure existing accounting files
• Excellent analytical and communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work on time

Nice to have
• Xero Advisor or Xero Certified Advisor status
• Experience with Xero add-ons (Hubdoc, Dext, Stripe, PayPal, etc.)
• Experience with international / remote companies
• Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS
