JOB OVERVIEW

We're a fast-growing digital marketing agency, and we're building short-form content into a serious client acquisition channel: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and wherever else attention lives. We need one person to own that machine end to end: scripting, coordinating production, managing the edit pipeline, scheduling, split testing, and reading the data to figure out what actually converts.

You'll work directly with our founder, who has previously scaled an audience to 250,000 followers, to test topics and formats, sharpen scripts, and turn views into booked sales calls. This is a growth role, not a posting role. If your experience is scheduling pretty graphics to Facebook, this isn't for you. If you understand hooks, retention, packaging, and what makes short-form content pull views and pull customers, keep reading.

About us

OPT Digital is a Wellington, New Zealand-based agency helping local trades and home service businesses grow through search across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. We've grown quickly into a seven-figure run rate, and our goal by the end of 2026 is to be the most trusted name in Local SEO for service businesses in our markets.

Two things that make us different. First, we treat content like paid media: everything is a test, everything gets measured, and formats earn their place with data. Second, we build our own internal tools. Every department at OPT runs on custom dashboards and automations built in-house, and you'll help design the ones that make your job easier.

Why this role exists

We're recording a large volume of short-form content with our founder on camera and an in-house videographer and editing team behind it. What's missing is the operator in the middle: the person who takes a topic from idea to script to shoot to edit to published post to performance review, and keeps that flywheel spinning every single week without anything stalling.

The raw materials are all here: a founder with a proven track record on camera, production capacity, an editing team, and a clear offer that converts. Your job is to turn those pieces into a content engine that grows our audience and feeds our sales pipeline.

What you'll own

1. Scripts and formats. Write and co-write short-form scripts with the founder. Develop hooks that stop the scroll and structures that hold retention. Research what's working in our niche and adjacent ones, and bring format ideas to the table. You're expected to have opinions, backed by examples.

2. The production pipeline. Plan and coordinate recording sessions so shoot days are efficient and nothing gets filmed without a purpose. Brief the editing team clearly, manage revisions, and keep the pipeline moving from raw footage to publish-ready content on a consistent rhythm.

3. Publishing and testing. Schedule and post across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other relevant platforms. Run structured split tests on topics, hooks, and formats. Manage the accounts day to day: captions, packaging, and the details that d ---------- whether a good video performs or dies.

4. The data. Track performance across platforms and present it clearly: what's growing, what's converting, and what we should double down on or kill. Views are the input. The metric that matters is qualified leads and booked calls coming from content, and you connect the two.

5. The tools. Work with the founder to build the internal dashboards and automations that remove the grind from your role, including content calendars, performance tracking, and publishing workflows. You tell us what would make the machine run faster, and we build it together.

Who this role is for
You have real, demonstrable experience growing short-form content: accounts you've run or contributed to, with numbers you can show us. Views, follower growth, and ideally leads or sales driven by content
You understand the mechanics of short-form: hooks, retention curves, packaging, pacing, platform-specific behavior, and why the first two seconds d ---------- everything
You can write scripts, hooks, and captions in sharp, natural English that sounds like a person, not a brand account
You've coordinated production before: managing shoot schedules, briefing editors, running revisions, and hitting a publishing cadence without being chased
You're genuinely analytical: comfortable in platform analytics, honest about what's working and what isn't, and able to present findings clearly
You think in funnels, not just followers. You understand that the goal is turning attention into paying clients, and you make content decisions accordingly
You're organised enough to run a multi-platform publishing operation solo, and proactive enough that the founder never has to ask "where's this week's content?"
Strong bonus: experience with B2B, agency, or "boring niche" content (trades, local business, finance, SaaS), proving you can generate views without dancing or trends as a crutch
What we offer
$1,100-$2,000 USD/month depending on experience, and we'll go above the band for someone who can show a genuine track record of growth and conversion
13th month pay
HMO allowance after your probation period
Paid time off plus paid Philippine public holidays
Fully remote. Work from anywhere in the Philippines
Direct daily collaboration with a founder who's built an audience before and treats content as a first-class growth channel, not an afterthought
An in-house videographer and editing team. You're the strategist and operator, not a one-person band doing everything
Custom tools and automations built around your role
A content function that is yours to own and shape, with a clear path to a head-of-content seat as the channel scales
How to apply

We read every application that follows these instructions, and we skip every one that doesn't.

Use the subject line: SHORT-FORM - [Your Name]
In your application, answer these four questions:
Link to 2-3 pieces of short-form content or accounts you've worked on, and tell us exactly what your role was and what the results were (real numbers, please)
In your opinion, what's the most important part of a piece of short-form content, and why?
Describe how you'd structure a split test to find our best-performing content format in the first 60 days
Lastly: what makes a good hook, in your opinion?
Optional but strongly encouraged: include a short Loom or video (2-3 minutes) introducing yourself and walking through a piece of content you're proud of and why it worked. Applicants who do this go to the top of the pile.

We're reviewing applications now and will move quickly with the right candidates.
