JOB OVERVIEW

Reports To: Owner
Department: Amazon / E-Commerce / Marketing
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday. Fixed PST hours strongly preferred (8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM PST);
candidates offering substantial daily overlap with PST business hours will also be considered.
Location: Remote

1. Position Summary
This is a senior, strategy-level marketing role — not an entry-level or trainee position. We are hiring someone who
already knows how to research a target audience, position a product against competitors, and write listing and
marketing content that converts, and who can own that work independently from day one.
The core of this role is marketing strategy and positioning: researching who a product's buyer actually is, what they're
looking for, and how to frame a product so it wins against alternatives — then translating that thinking into listing
copy, A+ content, and supporting marketing materials across Amazon and third-party marketplaces. Fluency with
modern AI research and writing tools (Helium 10, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and AI imaging tools) is expected as
part of how this work gets done efficiently — it supports the strategic and writing skill, it doesn't replace it.
The scope is expanding to include company social media — starting with LinkedIn — as a natural extension of the
same audience-research and positioning skill set.
If you have not done audience research, competitive positioning, or marketing/listing writing before, this is not
the role to learn on. We're looking for someone who can step in, take ownership of a product or listing, and run
the strategy-to-execution process with minimal ramp-up.

2. Core Responsibilities

A. Marketing Strategy, Research & Positioning
• Research target audiences for each product — who the buyer is, what they're solving for, and how they evaluate
options — and use that research to drive positioning decisions, not just describe the product.
• Conduct competitive research and analysis to identify how to position a product to win against named and
unnamed alternatives on the market.
• Own the strategic framing for new product launches and listing rewrites: the angle, the audience, and the proof
points, before a word of copy is written.
• Maintain and refine a repeatable research framework so positioning work is consistent and defensible across
products.

B. Amazon & Third-Party Marketplace Listings
• Own listing creation end to end: research, positioning, listing copy, A+ content modules, and imagery, through to
go-live.
• Build and maintain A+ content and image sets for existing products, including image optimization and content
refresh projects.
• Extend listing presence to third-party marketplaces beyond Amazon, adapting content and positioning to each
platform's requirements and audience.
• Own listing quality and category-placement work — resolving classification issues, closing keyword gaps, and
running optimization passes on underperforming listings.

C. AI-Assisted Research & Content Tools
• Use Helium 10 as the core marketplace research and keyword tool for product and competitive research.
• Use AI assistants — Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity — as working tools for research synthesis, positioning
exploration, and content drafting.
• Use AI or standard imaging/design tools to produce and optimize listing and A+ imagery.
• These tools support the underlying research, writing, and positioning skill — they are not a substitute for it.

D. Graphic Designer Coordination & Project Completion
• Serve as the primary coordination point with the graphic designer on all listing and A+ imagery — briefing the
designer, setting expectations, and tracking delivery through to final, published assets.
• Own the completion of design-dependent listing projects end to end: confirm briefs are clear, review drafts against
the positioning and audience research behind the listing, give focused revision feedback, and drive the project to
done rather than leaving it open-ended.
• Proactively flag delivery timing risks or unclear briefs before they stall a listing launch.

E. Social Media & Content Strategy (Expanding Scope)
• Own the company's LinkedIn presence as the first phase of a broader social media function: content calendar, post
drafting, and voice/brand consistency with marketplace listings.
• Apply the same audience-research and positioning approach used for listings to social content.
• Scope future expansion into additional social channels as the LinkedIn function matures, subject to approval.

F. Coordination & Documentation
• Route technical accuracy and specification questions to the relevant technical/product resource and confirm
resolution before content goes live.
• Review marketplace customer feedback and advertising-related items relevant to listing content, and turn them
into clear next steps.
• Maintain documentation tied to listings, such as standardized technical data sheet templates, in partnership with
technical staff.

3. Authority & Decision Boundaries
This role MAY:
• Independently research, position, and draft listing and marketing content within brand guidelines.
• Select and use AI and research tools (Helium 10, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, imaging tools) to execute the work.
• Draft and post social content within an approved content strategy.
• Recommend tool subscriptions or upgrades with cost/benefit rationale for approval.
• Flag stalled projects, at-risk deadlines, or content/tool issues directly to leadership.

This role MAY NOT (without approval):
• Finalize brand voice, positioning, or creative direction on major launches or storefront redesigns.
• Approve advertising budgets, bidding, or campaign strategy.
• Commit to new paid tool subscriptions or vendor/contractor arrangements.
• Publish new social channels beyond the approved scope (currently LinkedIn) without sign-off.
• Approve refunds, returns, or customer concessions outside written policy.
When in doubt, escalate. Speed and clarity of escalation is valued over independent judgment on gray-area items.

4. Qualifications
This is a senior hire. We are not looking to train someone in audience research, positioning, or marketing
writing from scratch — you should already do this well and be able to demonstrate it.
Required
• Fluent, native-level or near-native-level English, written and spoken. This is non-negotiable — the role is built on
writing and positioning, and there is no room for translation gaps.
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience researching target audiences and positioning products or services against
competitors — you can show work, not just describe the concept.
• Several years of hands-on experience writing and optimizing e-commerce marketplace listings (titles, bullets, A+
content) that you can point to and discuss.
• Working knowledge of Helium 10 or a comparable marketplace research/keyword tool.
• Practical, hands-on fluency with AI assistants for research and writing work — specifically Claude, Gemini, and
Perplexity — and at least one AI or standard imaging/design tool for listing graphics.
• Comfortable owning a product or listing from research through published content with minimal oversight.
Preferred
• Prior experience managing a brand's LinkedIn or other social media presence.
• Experience listing on third-party marketplaces beyond Amazon.
• Exposure to industrial or B2B product categories.
• Solid understanding of SEO as it applies to marketplace listings and social content.

5. Success Metrics (First 90 Days)
• Independently research, position, and publish at least one new or rewritten listing with minimal direction.
• A clean, working coordination process with the graphic designer — clear briefs, tracked delivery, no listing
project stalled waiting on unclear direction.
• A documented AI-assisted research and writing workflow in place and usable by others on the team.
• Helium 10 keyword and competitive research driving at least one measurable listing improvement (ranking,
conversion, or category placement).
• Company LinkedIn presence launched with a documented content strategy and a regular posting cadence.
• Demonstrated ability to own listing and content decisions day-to-day without close oversight.

6. Reporting & Working Relationships
Reports To Owner
Primary Coordination Graphic Designer — daily/weekly coordination on listing
and A+ imagery
Technical/Product Accuracy Technical/Product Specialist — chemistry, specs, TDS
accuracy
Advertising & SEO Amazon Advertising & SEO Manager — coordination on
keyword/SEO-related items

7. Schedule Requirements
• Full-time, Monday–Friday.
• Fixed PST schedule preferred: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM PST or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM PST.
• Candidates unable to commit to a fixed PST schedule may still be considered if they can offer substantial daily
overlap with PST business hours.

8. Compensation
• Competitive rate based on experience.
• Long-term, stable engagement with a defined growth path as the social media function expands.
