JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced ecommerce operator to work directly with the founder of an established direct-to-consumer Shopify brand.

We've built a profitable direct-to-consumer wristwatch business through great products, exceptional customer service, and a loyal customer base. We've reached a stage where the next phase of growth requires an experienced operator who has successfully helped ecommerce businesses scale beyond their current stage.

As our Head of Ecommerce Growth & Operations, you'll serve as the founder's operator and strategic thought partner. Your mission is to accelerate the company's growth while making it increasingly less dependent on the founder's day-to-day involvement. You'll identify opportunities that improve revenue, profitability, operational efficiency, and the long-term strength and value of the business. You'll lead high-impact initiatives, improve systems, and help shape the company's next stage of growth.

Strategic Growth
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and growth opportunities across the business.
- Own high-impact initiatives from idea through execution.
- Research, validate, and implement new growth opportunities.
- Launch and optimize new products, partnerships, growth initiatives, and expansion opportunities.
- Continuously bring forward new ideas to strengthen the business over the long term.
- Turn strategic priorities into actionable execution plans and ensure they get completed.
- Monitor industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities worth pursuing.
- Balance growth opportunities with thoughtful decision-making to build a stronger, more resilient business.

Ecommerce & Operations
- Improve key ecommerce metrics including topline revenue, conversion rate (CR), average order value (AOV), customer lifetime value (LTV), retention, profitability, and customer experience.
- Continuously improve website performance, merchandising, customer journey, and operational workflows.
- Improve current customer service workflows.
- Improve reporting, dashboards, and business visibility.
- Improve supplier management, fulfillment, purchase order workflows, and internal operations.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and technology to improve efficiency and scale.

Outcomes
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to create quantifiable impact, including:
- Increase revenue and profitability through high-impact business initiatives.
- Reduce the founder's involvement in day-to-day operations while maintaining or improving business performance.
- Build scalable systems, automation, and documentation that enable continued growth.
- Improve key ecommerce KPIs through continuous testing, optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
- Deliver strategic recommendations backed by thoughtful analysis and sound business judgment.
- Lead projects independently from planning through execution.

Technical Skills - Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in a senior ecommerce, growth, or operations role within a successful Shopify brand, with direct ownership of initiatives that helped scale the business and produced measurable results.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce growth, operations, customer experience, and business analytics.
- Strong proficiency with Shopify and the broader ecommerce ecosystem.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify growth opportunities using data and business insights.
- Experience leveraging AI and modern technology to improve productivity, automate workflows, and scale ecommerce businesses.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves
- Experience launching new products or expanding product lines.
- Experience sourcing, managing, or coordinating contractors and external specialists when appropriate.
- Experience with modern ecommerce marketing, analytics, and automation platforms (e.g. Seguno/Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4, or similar tools).
- Experience with high-ticket or considered-purchase ecommerce products.
- Experience building dashboards, SOPs, and scalable operational systems.
- Experience using Shopify Flow, AI, or automation tools to improve business operations.
