I am an Expert-Vetted performance marketing consultant looking for a reliable virtual assistant to help identify, qualify and prepare proposals for suitable projects on Upwork.
This is a part-time, long-term position starting at approximately 8–10 hours per week, with scope to grow.
Speed matters on Upwork. Suitable opportunities need to be flagged shortly after posting, while they are still fresh and before they attract a high volume of proposals. The role is therefore structured around short daily sweeps plus alert-based responses — not one weekly block of hours.
How the schedule works
- Three short fixed sweeps per working day at agreed times, covering UK business hours and the US morning (when most US jobs are posted)
- Upwork saved-search alerts will be set up for my target criteria; you respond to relevant alerts within 60 minutes during agreed coverage windows
- Candidates already working a night-shift schedule aligned to US hours are especially welcome and can cover extended US-hours windows — this will be reflected in the rate
Applicants who can only work one continuous block with no flexibility should not apply.
You will receive a documented qualification checklist, proven proposal templates and a library of relevant case studies. Your role is to follow and execute an established process consistently — not create a new one.
Responsibilities
- Complete the agreed daily sweeps for relevant Google Ads, Meta Ads, PPC and performance marketing projects
- Respond to saved-search alerts within the agreed windows
- Review each opportunity against clearly defined qualification criteria
- Research the client's budget, hiring history, previous spend and project requirements
- Add qualified opportunities to a structured Google Sheet
- Score and prioritise opportunities based on quality and fit
- Select the most relevant case study for each project
- Draft concise, personalised proposals using my templates
- Flag urgent or high-quality opportunities for immediate review
- Track submitted proposals, responses, interviews and outcomes
- Identify patterns in the types of projects and proposals generating the strongest results
You will not be expected to access or log in to my personal Upwork account. I review and submit all final proposals.
Requirements
- Previous experience researching jobs or preparing proposals on Upwork
- Excellent written English
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to distinguish high-quality opportunities from poor-fit projects
- Ability to write genuinely personalised proposals rather than generic, copied or entirely AI-generated applications
- Familiarity with Google Ads, Meta Ads, e-commerce or digital marketing is preferred
- Comfortable following detailed checklists, templates and processes
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly
- Reliable availability for the daily sweeps and alert windows described above
Hours and Compensation
- 8–10 hours per week initially, with scope to grow
- $4–$6 per hour depending on experience ($6–$8 for candidates covering full US-hours windows on a night-shift schedule)
Paid one-week trial before a longer-term arrangement
- $10 bonus for each qualified interview booked (qualification criteria agreed in advance)
- $50 bonus for each signed client
How to Apply
Begin your response with the word ROAS and include:
1. Your previous experience with Upwork proposals or job research
2. Two red flags that would make you skip an Upwork job posting
3. Your hourly rate and weekly availability
4. The sweep times you propose, in your local time zone, and which UK/US windows they cover
5. Whether you can cover alert windows during US business hours, and how
6. A short example proposal for a Google Ads management opportunity
Applications that do not answer all six questions will not be considered.
