JOB OVERVIEW

We are a 13-person managed services provider (MSP) in San Diego, California, and we are hiring a Technical Project Manager in the Philippines.

Here is the honest reason this job exists. Over the last 18 months we delivered 63 client projects, and they were managed by five different people who all have other full-time jobs - including the owner. Five projects were cancelled, two went at risk, and nine are sitting in planning waiting for someone to drive them. Nobody owns project management here. That is the seat.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

The projects are real and they repeat. In the last 18 months:

- Microsoft 365 and email migrations - the single most common project we run
- Workstation and laptop rollouts - ten machines at a time, imaged, configured, delivered
- Server replacements and virtualization
- New client onboarding - taking over an environment from another IT company
- Firewall, WiFi and network upgrades
- Intune and Entra ID rollouts, backup projects, phone system cutovers

Your job is to make those land on time, on budget, and without the client wondering what is happening:

- Take a scoped project and turn it into a real plan: tasks, sequence, hours, who does what, and when.
- Schedule our engineers and keep them unblocked. Chase the dependency nobody noticed - the switch that has not shipped, the license nobody bought, the client contact who has not replied.
- Be the client's single point of contact for the project. They should always know what is next and never have to ask.
- Run it all in ConnectWise Manage on the project board, with time logged against the project so we know whether we made money.
- Catch scope creep early and raise a change order instead of eating the hours.
- Close the project properly: documentation into Hudu, handoff to the service team, and a client who is genuinely happy.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES NOT INCLUDE

You will not manage our CMMC and defense-compliance projects. Those involve controlled government data with strict rules about who may access it, and they stay with our US-based team. We are telling you up front so there is no confusion later.

WHAT WE NEED

- Real project management experience inside an MSP or IT services company. This is the hard requirement. We do not care about PMP, CAPM or Scrum certificates - they are a nice bonus, not a substitute for having actually run IT projects.
- Enough technical literacy to hold a schedule together and know when an estimate is wrong. You do not have to be the engineer. You do have to know what a domain migration involves and roughly how long it should take.
- The organized, slightly stubborn personality that follows up until something is actually done.
- Clear written and spoken English - you will be emailing and talking with American clients.
- ConnectWise Manage experience is a real advantage. Kaseya, Hudu or Microsoft 365 familiarity helps.

THE SCHEDULE - READ THIS TWICE

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM San Diego time, Monday to Friday. In Manila that is 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. It is a night shift, and it is not flexible, because you need to be reachable while our engineers and clients are working.

We have a 15-minute stand-up on Microsoft Teams at 8:00 AM San Diego, on camera. After that you get your day to work. You also need genuinely reliable internet and a computer, plus a backup plan for when the power goes out.

PAY

2,000 to 3,200 USD per month, based on experience and English.
