JOB OVERVIEW

Hours: Part-time (5 hours per day)
Salary: £200 per month + 5% commission on every client transaction you successfully bring to the company.
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of a growing international freight forwarding company.

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in the freight forwarding industry who understands international shipping, customs clearance, and customer service. You will work closely with management to ensure shipments are handled efficiently while also helping to grow the business by generating new clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day freight forwarding operations.
Coordinate import and export shipments.
Prepare freight quotations for customers.
Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, suppliers, and customers.
Arrange bookings and manage shipment documentation.
Assist with customs clearance procedures.
Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers.
Prepare invoices and operational documents.
Respond to customer enquiries via email and telephone.
Support business development by identifying and bringing in new clients.
Provide general administrative and operational support as required.
Requirements

The ideal candidate must have:

Previous experience in freight forwarding (essential).
Good knowledge of sea freight, air freight, and international shipping procedures.
Experience with customs clearance and shipping documentation.
Understanding of Bills of Lading (HBL/MBL), commercial invoices, packing lists, and import/export documentation.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.
A reliable internet connection and computer for remote working.
