GoHighLevel (GHL) Engineer — Technical Fulfillment for a Home-Services Marketing Agency
About the role-
We build done-for-you GoHighLevel systems for local home-services businesses in the U.S. — plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, and similar. Our core package is simple and repeatable: a clean website, automated Google review requests, a website chat widget, and automated missed-call text-back, bundled into one monthly service.
You'll own technical fulfillment — the engine that turns a sold client into a live, working system. Once a client signs, you take it from there: build their account, wire up every automation, make sure the phone and
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thinks in systems, likes clean repeatable builds, and can debug when something breaks. If you only know how to click around the GHL builder from tutorials, this isn't the fit — we need someone who understands what's happening underneath.
What you'll own-
Snapshot & product engineering-
- Own our master snapshot: the reusable template every client build is based on
- Improve it over time — add features, fix bugs, keep it clean and version-tracked
- Roll out changes across client accounts without breaking existing setups
Client builds (fulfillment)-
- Spin up new client sub-accounts from the snapshot on a standardized, repeatable process
- Build clean, mobile-responsive websites and landing pages for each client
- Configure the website chat widget and connect it to SMS / Conversations
- Customize each build with the client's info, branding, service area, and business details
Automation engineering-
- Build and maintain the missed-call text-back automation (triggers, conditions, timing, fallbacks)
- Build automated review-request workflows (SMS +
- Set up lead-notification routing so the client hears about new leads fast
- Design workflows that hold up — test edge cases, avoid duplicate sends, handle no-responses
Phone, SMS &
- Provision phone numbers (LC Phone / Twilio) and complete U.S. A2P 10DLC brand + campaign registration
- Troubleshoot SMS deliverability and registration rejections
- Set up
- Handle DNS records and domain / subdomain setup for client sites and sending
QA, launch & maintenance-
- Test everything before launch — real test calls, test texts, form submissions, the full lead flow
- Run each build through a QA checklist so nothing ships broken
- Monitor and maintain live accounts; fix broken automations and handle client-reported issues
- Adapt to GHL platform changes and updates so builds keep working
Documentation-
- Write SOPs and record short Loom walkthroughs so the fulfillment process stays repeatable and scalable
Must-have skills-
- Strong, hands-on GoHighLevel experience — you've built and shipped real client accounts, not just practice builds
- Deep with snapshots, sub-accounts, and the workflow / automation builder (triggers, conditions, wait steps, custom values / fields)
- You've built missed-call text-back and review-request automations before and can explain how they work
- Solid with phone / SMS setup: LC Phone / Twilio provisioning and U.S. A2P 10DLC registration end-to-end
-
- Comfortable with DNS records (A, CNAME, TXT, MX) and connecting domains
- Can build clean, professional, mobile-responsive sites and funnels
- A debugger's mindset — when something breaks, you can trace it and fix it
- Strong written English, reliable and proactive communication, detail-oriented, follows and writes SOPs
Nice to have-
- Experience with U.S. local / home-services businesses
- Google Business Profile management and local SEO basics
- Zapier / Make integrations, webhooks, or light API work
- Design sense (Canva, basic image editing)
- Comfortable creating client-facing training videos or docs
How this role works-
You're the technical fulfillment engineer — not a sales or account-management role. You'll get a clear brief for each client and own the build from provisioning to launch to upkeep. We want a long-term partner who can eventually help us take on more clients without the quality dropping.
How to apply-
Please start your message with the word **ALOHA** so I know you read the full post.
Then include:
1. Links to 2–3 GHL client accounts or builds you've done (live sites, a demo account, or a snapshot you can share)
2. A short description of a missed-call text-back or review workflow you built — and walk me through how you handled A2P 10DLC registration and any deliverability issues
3. Your availability (hours per week) and your rate
Applications that skip these steps won't be considered.
