JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking experienced accounting professionals for full-time remote roles supporting a US-based vacation rental and property management company.

Opportunities are available for Property Accountants, Senior Property Accountants, and an Accounting Manager/Team Lead. Candidates with direct experience in vacation rentals, property management, hospitality, or trust accounting will have a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities – Property Accountants
Maintain accurate General Ledger records across multiple properties or entities
Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments
Perform bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and trust account reconciliations
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Reconcile guest payments, booking transactions, platform fees, refunds, and deposits
Prepare or assist with owner statements, owner payouts, and property-level financial reports
Process and monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Investigate discrepancies, unreconciled transactions, and outstanding balances
Maintain complete supporting schedules and accounting documentation
Assist with lodging, occupancy, or sales tax reporting, when required
Coordinate with finance, property operations, owners, and other stakeholders

Additional Responsibilities – Accounting Manager/Team Lead
Lead, support, and develop a remote accounting team
Review reconciliations, journal entries, financial reports, and month-end deliverables
Manage closing schedules and ensure deadlines are consistently met
Oversee the accuracy of property, trust, and entity-level accounting records
Assign workloads and provide training, coaching, and performance feedback
Establish and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation
Resolve escalated accounting issues and reconciliation discrepancies
Coordinate with company leadership and cross-functional teams
Support system implementations and accounting process improvements

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least three years of relevant accounting experience
Strong General Ledger, account reconciliation, and month-end close experience
Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
Experience using accounting software or ERP platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote environment
Willingness to work hours aligned with a US-based team

Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience in vacation rental, property management, hospitality, or trust accounting
Experience managing multiple properties, entities, or bank accounts
Experience with trust or escrow account reconciliations
Familiarity with owner statements, owner payouts, and rental-property financial reporting
Experience reconciling transactions from Airbnb, Vrbo, ---------- , or similar platforms
Familiarity with property management systems used in the vacation rental industry
Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Xero, or similar accounting platforms
Previous experience supporting US-based companies
CPA designation or equivalent certification
Team leadership or people-management experience for manager applicants

Work Setup
Fully remote
Independent Contractor
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Must be open to working the night shift or hours aligned with the US team
Must have a reliable computer, stable internet connection, and backup connection
