JOB OVERVIEW

A little about me:

I'm Virginia, an Okanagan-based wedding and storytelling photographer documenting love stories across Kelowna and the surrounding valley.

My work isn't about posed smiles. It's about presence. The fleeting glances. The laughter echoing down a vineyard path. The quiet squeeze of a grandmother's hand. These are the ---------- nts that become legacy, the ones a future family holds onto long after the day is over.

That belief is personal to me. I lost my best friend at twenty-three. When I married in 2016, on what would have been her 31st birthday, my dad asked her father to walk me down the aisle beside him. In that ---------- nt, love and grief met in a single gesture. It changed how I see photographs forever. They're not just for us. They're for the people who come after us.
That's the business you'd be supporting. Not just a photography studio, but something I care about deeply.

Virginia Nymeyer Photography is growing and I need a right-hand person to help me keep up with everything that happens off camera. I'm organized and I take my work seriously. I need someone who matches that. Someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do, who sees what needs to happen and handles it, and who communicates with me along the way.

I communicate a lot. I expect the same in return.

What you'll actually be doing:

This is a wide-open role. If that makes you nervous, this probably isn't the right fit. If it excites you, keep reading.
On any given week you might be:

>Creating and scheduling social media content. Writing captions, selecting images, building out Instagram posts, reels cover graphics, and carousels using templates I provide. I will give you direction, but I need you to execute with minimal hand-holding.

>Tracking business numbers. Keeping my content tracker and other spreadsheets updated and accurate.
Prospecting. Researching and building lists of potential clients, venues, and vendor partners, formatted so I can actually use them.

>Managing my inbox. Responding to general inquiries, forwarding what needs my attention, keeping things from falling through the cracks.

>Writing and formatting documents. SOPs, client-facing materials, email templates. You need to be able to write clearly in English.

>Researching. Wedding trends, content hooks, hashtag strategy, venue information, or anything else I need answered quickly.
Setting up systems. If I need something built, organized, or automated, you'll help figure out how.

>Handling whatever comes up. And being honest with me when you don't know how to do something, instead of guessing.

Who you are:

You don't need a formal background in photography or weddings. You do need to be the kind of person who:

>Takes initiative. You see a problem and you solve it before I have to ask. You bring me solutions, not just problems.

>Communicates constantly. If something is unclear, you ask. If something is delayed, you tell me. If you've finished a task and are waiting for the next one, you let me know. No radio silence.

>Is obsessed with the details. Spelling, formatting, deadlines, instructions. All of it matters. A mistake in a client-facing document isn't a small thing. Neither is a missed deadline.

>Figures things out. I'm not always going to have a tutorial for you. I need someone who is comfortable Googling, learning, testing, and figuring things out independently.

>Is genuinely organized. Not just "I think I'm pretty organized." Actually organized. Systems, folders, labels, consistent naming conventions. That's how you work naturally.

>Is honest and direct. If you can't do something by a deadline, tell me before the deadline. If you don't understand a task, say so before you spend three hours going in the wrong direction.

>Cares about quality. I'm a photographer. Aesthetics matter. Presentation matters. Everything you produce for me should look like it was done with care.

>Is comfortable in English. You don't have to be a native speaker, but your written English needs to be strong, professional, clear, and natural.

What I need from you technically

>This role is remote, so your setup matters.

>Reliable, fast internet with a minimum of 25 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload so we can do Zoom calls and you can handle file-heavy tasks without interruptions. You will be asked to screenshot your Speedtest results in the application.

>A working computer (Mac or PC) with the ability to install free software.

>A strong working knowledge of Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.

>A strong working knowledge of Instagram, not just as a casual user. You need to understand how the platform works: reels, carousels, hashtags, reach, and what makes content perform.

>Confident, hands-on experience with Canva, Zoom, Google Drive, Blog Posts, and Go High Level [CRM] including knowing your way around both Docs and Sheets without needing to be walked through the basics.

What this is not:

>This is not a passive role. I will not be creating detailed task lists for every single thing and handing them to you every morning. I need someone who can manage their own workload, flag when they're stuck, and show me what they accomplished.

>If you're looking for something that tells you exactly what to do every minute of every day, I'm probably not the right client for you. If you want to be part of a small, creative business that is growing fast and needs a sharp, dependable person to grow with it, I'd love to hear from you.

How to apply:

Step 1: Fill out the application form here: ???? ----------

The above form will ask you to run an internet speed test at speedtest.net and take a screenshot using Lightshot (download here) and share the link.

Step 2: Send me an email at ---------- with the subject line:
Applying for the role of #VA
(The subject line must be exact. Copy and paste it exactly as it appears above.)

In the body of your email, tell me why you want this job. A short paragraph is fine. I'm not looking for a sales pitch. I'm looking for something real.

Applications that do not follow both steps will not be considered.
