JOB OVERVIEW

I run a documentary-style YouTube channel covering political history — assassinations, covert operations, wars, and hidden stories. I'm looking for one reliable long-term editor to handle the full visual side of each episode.

What I provide:

The finished script (DOCX)

What you provide — everything else:

The finished AI voiceover (ElevenLabs, ~20–25 minutes)
All visuals and B-roll, sourced by you (archival footage, photos, newsreel, stock)
B-roll that matches what the narration is saying at that exact ---------- nt. This is the single most important part of the job. If the narrator says "the motorcade turned onto Elm Street," I need to see the motorcade — not generic city footage.
Clean, readable captions (burned-in, styled, well-timed — not auto-generated YouTube captions)
Subtle motion: Ken Burns pans/zooms on stills, so nothing sits static
Light sound design and background music that fits a serious documentary tone
Colour grading consistent across the whole video

Style reference: Think serious history documentary — restrained, not flashy. No ---------- cuts, no zoom punches, no cartoon sound effects. Slow, deliberate pacing. My audience is 50+ and knows these events well, so the visuals have to be accurate and respectful of the subject.

Requirements:

Proven experience editing long-form (15+ min) faceless/documentary content — please send links
Fluent enough in written English to follow a detailed script and understand historical context
Skilled at sourcing archival footage and public-domain/stock material
Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, After Effects a plus
Reliable internet and the ability to handle large files
Available for ongoing weekly work — I publish on a fixed weekly schedule and need a partner I can count on, not one-off gigs

Turnaround: [X] days per episode
Volume: 4 - 7 video per week to start, potentially more
Rate: [your rate] per video — negotiable based on portfolio and quality

HOW TO APPLY:

Do not send a generic application. I will ignore it. Instead reply with:

Start your message with the word ARCHIVE so I know you read this fully.
Links to 2–3 long-form documentary-style videos you personally edited (tell me exactly what you did on each).
One sentence on how you would find B-roll for a scripted line about a 1935 political assassination.
Your rate per finished 20–25 minute video.
How many videos per month you can commit to.
