# Remote Patient Advocate

**Position:** Full-Time Remote Patient Advocate
**Pay:** $5.00 per hour
**Start Date:** As soon as possible
Ameriton Workforce Solutions is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented **Remote Patient Advocate** with excellent spoken and written English. This position supports a medical office by coordinating patient care, tracking outstanding orders, and making sure important follow-up tasks are completed accurately and on time.
The office currently uses **MD Synergy** and plans to transition to **NextGen Healthcare EMR**. NextGen experience is preferred but not required.
## Responsibilities
* Review laboratory and diagnostic imaging results received by the medical office.
* Upload laboratory results and other medical documents through insurance, laboratory, imaging, and patient portals.
* Send and receive laboratory results, orders, and medical records by fax.
* Track laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders.
* Contact patients to remind them to complete scheduled laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
* Follow up with patients who miss or cancel laboratory and imaging appointments.
* Help manage patient recalls and contact patients who are due for appointments or follow-up care.
* Submit, track, and follow up on prior authorization requests.
* Confirm that results are received and properly uploaded into the patient’s medical record.
* Accurately enter and update patient information in the EMR.
* Document all calls, faxes, portal uploads, and follow-up activity.
* Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, laboratories, imaging centers, and medical offices.
* Notify the appropriate clinical team when results or patient concerns require review.
* Maintain organized work queues and outstanding-order lists.
* Follow HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements at all times.
## Required Qualifications
* Excellent spoken and written English.
* Previous experience working in a medical office, patient coordination, referrals, prior authorizations, or healthcare administration.
* Experience uploading documents through online portals and sending medical records by fax.
* Familiarity with laboratory orders, diagnostic imaging, and medical terminology.
* Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple patients, deadlines, recalls, and outstanding tasks.
* Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet workspace.
* Ability to work independently and communicate consistently with the medical office.
* Hipaa compliant certification
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience using **NextGen Healthcare EMR**.
* Experience using **MD Synergy** or another medical practice management system.
* Experience managing patient recalls.
* Experience with prior authorizations, referrals, laboratory follow-up, and diagnostic imaging coordination.
* Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant remote work.
## Compensation and Schedule
This is a **full-time remote position paying $5.00 per hour**. We are looking for a qualified candidate who is available to begin as soon as possible.
