JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Medical Virtual Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate has a healthcare-related educational background, excellent English communication skills, and experience handling patient calls, scheduling appointments, and supporting front office operations.
Responsibilities:
Answer inbound patient calls professionally and courteously.
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
Manage provider calendars and coordinate patient schedules.
Document patient interactions accurately in the EMR.
Verify patient demographics and insurance information when needed.
Respond to patient inquiries and escalate clinical questions to the appropriate staff.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Degree or formal education in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, pharmacy, Medicine, or similar).
Previous experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant or Medical Receptionist.
Athenahealth EMR experience is highly preferred.
Excellent spoken and written English with a neutral, professional accent.
Strong customer service and phone etiquette.
Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable high-speed internet connection, quiet home office, and quality headset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with U.S. medical practices.
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations is a plus.
