We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant with at least 3 years of hands-on California Personal Injury (PI) experience to join a growing law firm.
This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and support attorneys throughout the lifecycle of personal injury cases.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain personal injury case files
Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other third parties
Request, organize, and follow up on medical records and billing
Draft correspondence and legal documents
Prepare demand packages and settlement-related documents
Monitor case deadlines and maintain case calendars
Assist with case intake through settlement
Update and maintain the firm's case management system
Perform other administrative and legal support tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of California Personal Injury Legal Assistant experience (required)
Strong understanding of the California PI case process
Experience working with insurance companies and medical providers
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Able to manage multiple cases simultaneously
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Experience with legal case management software is highly preferred (Filevine, Litify, Clio, SmartAdvocate, Needles, CASEpeer, or similar)
Must be available to work during Los Angeles, California business hours
