JOB OVERVIEW

Position Overview
Today's Business (TB) is a U.S.-based digital marketing agency seeking a Part-Time SEO Backlink Outreach Coordinator to run ongoing, ethical white-hat link building campaigns for our client roster — including Amplifi (Braiden Shaw), Ammerländer, and our full portfolio of SEO clients.

This role is 100% focused on earning high-quality, credible, dofollow backlinks that genuinely improve each client's domain authority and organic visibility. You will identify relevant sites, vet them against real quality standards, pitch real placement opportunities, coordinate with our internal SEO/content team on the right target pages and anchor text, and manage every link from first outreach through to a confirmed, live placement. This is not a directory-submission or PBN/link-farm role — every link earned must come from a legitimate, editorially relevant, human-reviewed placement.
What "Ethical, White-Hat" Means for This Role
Only pursue placements on real, active, editorially-run websites with genuine audiences — no link farms, private blog networks (PBNs), link exchanges, or paid-link schemes disguised as editorial content
Prioritize dofollow links, but never misrepresent a paid or sponsored placement as organic/editorial
Target sites and pages that are topically relevant to the client's industry — a finance client gets finance/wealth placements, a food/CPG client gets food/recipe/retail placements, etc.
Respect every publisher's guidelines, disclosure requirements, and "no" — no repeated badgering after a decline
Never buy links from known link-selling networks or use automated/spam outreach tools that mass-blast irrelevant sites
Vetting a Site Before You Pitch It
"High quality" isn't a feeling — every prospect gets checked against real criteria before any outreach goes out:

Domain Rating (DR/DA): prioritize established, authoritative sites over brand-new or low-authority ones
Spam Score: avoid domains with high spam signals (thin content, unnatural link patterns, suspicious TLDs) — when in doubt, run it through Ahrefs/Moz before pitching
Real organic traffic: the site should have actual visitors, not just a DR number with no real audience behind it
Topical relevance: the site's content/audience should genuinely relate to the client's industry — a finance placement for Amplifi, a food/retail placement for Ammerländer, etc.
Real editorial site, not a link farm: confirm there's an actual publication with real authors, regular content, and a real audience — not a site that exists purely to sell links
Flag any borderline case to the SEO team in Slack rather than guessing

Core Responsibilities

Outreach Execution

Identify and qualify backlink opportunities daily across the assigned client roster, including:
"Best of" / roundup list inclusion (e.g., best cheese brands, best credit cards, best investing tools)
Guest post and expert-contributor pitches to relevant blogs and trade publications
HARO/journalist-request style expert-commentary opportunities
Industry and trade association outreach (e.g., professional/trade organizations relevant to the client's category)
Competitor backlink gap outreach (sites linking to competitors but not the client)
Broken-link and unlinked-brand-mention outreach (sites mentioning the brand/product without a working link)
Resource page and "recommended tools/reading" page outreach
Send personalized, non-templated-feeling outreach emails (using TB's approved templates as a starting framework, not a copy-paste script)
Track every prospect and every outreach touchpoint in ---------- — no outreach happens outside the board

Coordination

Coordinate with the internal SEO/content team via Slack before finalizing any pitch to confirm:
Which specific client page(s) should receive the link
Approved anchor text for each placement (contextual, keyword-aligned, non-spammy)
Any pages that are off-limits or any anchor text to avoid
Flag any opportunity that requires client-specific context, budget approval (paid placements), or legal/compliance review before pursuing

Follow-Through & Verification

Follow up on outstanding pitches on a set cadence until a final yes/no
Once a placement is confirmed, verify the link goes live, confirm it is dofollow (unless otherwise agreed), confirm the anchor text and destination URL match what was approved, and screenshot/log proof
Flag any placement that goes live incorrectly (wrong anchor text, nofollow when dofollow was promised, wrong URL) for correction with the publisher

Reporting

Target baseline: 200–300 outreach pitches per week across the client roster (adjusted up/down by client priority and season) — this is the number the weekly report is measured against
Submit a weekly report covering, at minimum:
Total outreach sent (by client)
Total responses received / response rate
New placements confirmed and gone live that week (with URLs)
Pipeline status of everything still in follow-up
Any blockers or opportunities needing internal input
Tools You'll Use
---------- — primary system of record for all outreach, prospect status, and link tracking
Slack — daily coordination with the SEO/content team on target pages and anchor text
Gmail/Outreach email — outreach and follow-up
Ahrefs — used by the team to identify/qualify high-authority prospects and to confirm domain rating and dofollow status of live links (training provided if you haven't used it)

Qualifications
Prior experience in SEO link building, digital PR, or outreach/business development (agency experience a plus)
Excellent written English — outreach emails represent real client brands to real publishers and journalists
Highly organized with proven ability to manage a high volume of ongoing outreach threads without letting things fall through the cracks
Comfortable working independently against a weekly cadence and reporting deadline
Familiarity with ---------- and Slack preferred; willingness to learn Ahrefs basics required
Understanding of (or willingness to quickly learn) what makes a backlink high-quality vs. low-quality/spammy — domain authority, relevance, dofollow vs. nofollow, editorial context

Time Tracking
All work hours must be logged daily using ---------- (or another team-approved time tracker) — clock in at shift start, clock out at shift end, no exceptions
Time logs are reviewed against weekly output (outreach volume, follow-ups, placements confirmed) — consistent hours with consistently low output will be addressed directly
Flag any day where you're unable to hit your full scheduled hours as early as possible

Schedule
Monday through Friday
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Eastern Time (5 hours/day, ~25 hours/week)
Remote position (Philippines-based)

Compensation
$100 USD per week

Success Metrics
Consistent, on-time daily hours logged via Monday
Weekly outreach volume at or above the 200–300/week baseline
Steady improvement in response and placement rates over time
Every live placement correctly verified (dofollow status, anchor text, destination URL)
Accurate, up-to-date ---------- board
On-time weekly report, every week, without reminders
What Will Get You Removed From This Role
Purchasing links, using link farms/PBNs, or any outreach practice that violates Google's webmaster guidelines
Misrepresenting sponsored/paid content as organic/editorial to a client or in reporting
Logging outreach inconsistently or falling behind on ---------- updates
Missing the weekly report without advance notice
