Position Overview
The Senior Equity Research Analyst will support the firm's investment research and decision-making processes by conducting research, analyzing information, and developing insights across companies, industries, markets, and broader economic trends. This position will be a structured learning and training experience that supports academic and professional development including complementing academic coursework. This role provides hands-on exposure to investment management, financial markets, and analytical problem-solving while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
Conduct research on companies, industries, markets, and economic trends.
Gather, organize, and analyze data from a variety of public and proprietary sources.
Review company filings, earnings reports, industry publications, and other relevant materials.
Assist in identifying investment opportunities and emerging market trends.
Support the preparation of research reports, presentations, and investment recommendations.
Investment & Market Research
Monitor financial markets, economic developments, and industry news.
Assist with due diligence and background research on potential investment opportunities.
Contribute to investment theses through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Help evaluate risk factors and key drivers affecting investment performance.
Reporting & Communication
Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations for internal discussions.
Present research findings clearly and concisely to team members.
Maintain research databases and organize supporting documentation.
Assist with special projects and ad hoc research requests.
Collaboration
Work closely with analysts, portfolio managers, traders, and other team members.
Participate in research discussions and investment meetings.
Attend industry presentations, webinars, and educational sessions when applicable.
Qualifications
Completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn.
Genuine interest in financial markets, investing, business, economics, or research.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting academic, business, or market research.
Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, or data analysis tools.
Knowledge of financial markets or investment concepts.
Experience with data visualization, presentation, or research tools.
Leadership experience through academics, research projects, or work experience.
