Hi, and thanks for reading this all the way through. I run a real estate content brand in a large US market, and I'm looking for one talented video editor to grow with me for the long haul. This is not a churn-and-burn gig. I want someone I can build alongside for years, who becomes a core part of the team and eventually leads editors of their own.
I'll be fully transparent about the work, the pay, and how to apply, so you can d
WHAT YOU'D BE EDITING
- Long-form real estate videos, roughly 18 to 25 minutes (property tours, on-camera content)
- City tour videos
- Occasional short-form clips, 30 to 60 seconds, with sharp modern transitions and creative effects that stop the scroll
- The core of this role is real estate. That is the heart of the work.
THE STYLE I'M GOING FOR
To give you a clear picture: think polished, high-energy real estate reels. I'm on camera walking through a property or the city, captions pop in synced to what I'm saying, professional photos and graphics fly cleanly into the frame, and smooth transitions carry the viewer from one space to the next. Modern, dynamic, scroll-stopping. A lot of the energy and movement has to come from your editing, so if you can create that cinematic, sweeping feel in post, you'll thrive here.
BEYOND EDITING, I VALUE
- Creativity. I want someone who pitches ideas and helps map out videos, not just executes a brief.
- Trend awareness. You know what is working right now on TikTok, Reels, and YouTube.
- Strong communication and full engagement. I expect a daily check-in, especially in the first 6 months, so we stay aligned and I always know projects are moving. This is about
- Someone coachable and hungry to keep leveling up their craft.
PAY, COMMISSION, AND GROWTH (FULL TRANSPARENCY)
- Base pay: 600 to 800 USD per month, based on your experience and trial performance. The top of that range is earned, not automatic.
- Commission on closed deals: on top of your base, you earn commission when real estate deals close as a direct result of the videos you produce. I want to be honest about the timing. Real estate transactions can take a long time to close, so short term, your salary is what matters most and what you should focus on. Long term, this is where it gets exciting. These payouts are significant, and especially after your first year, they can add up very nicely on top of your base. It is a real long game with real reward.
- Bonuses: performance and loyalty bonuses every 6 months.
- Growth path: this role is built to expand. As you grow, you can move into a lead role, train other editors, and earn on the deals their videos close too. The ceiling is high for the right person.
HOW I WORK WITH MY TEAM
Respect and clear communication. You'll manage your day around hitting deadlines and staying in touch, with a daily check-in so we are always on the same page. You'll get paid time off and holidays. I would rather be upfront and fair with you than play games.
REQUIREMENTS
- A reel or portfolio is required. Please do not apply without a link to your work. Applications with no way to see your editing will not be considered.
- Excellent English: spelling, writing, and comprehension all matter, since we will communicate constantly.
- Proficiency in at least one of: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Fast, reliable internet is a must. You will be moving large video files constantly, and slow internet will not work for this role.
- A computer that can run your editing software smoothly.
TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING (this is how I filter for people who actually read)
1. Your reel or portfolio link.
2. How many years you have been editing professionally.
3. Your 2 or 3 proudest projects, and one sentence on why you are proud of each.
4. Rate yourself 1 to 10 on each: Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, CapCut, motion graphics, color grading, and any AI tools you use (name them).
5. Your experience with AI tools for video, photo, or workflow, and how you use them.
6. Pitch me one fun, trending video concept where you would direct me on what to film so you can edit it into something eye-catching. I mean creative transitions and effects. For example: I walk out of a door and instantly appear inside a totally different building, the sun sets and rises behind me in seconds, or a playful fake-action
7. Please let me know how long it takes for you to do a 60-second reel and an 18-minute YouTube video (not nearly as much special effects involved)
8. State clearly whether you are able to work US hours, and how much your schedule can overlap with US business hours. Overlap is a big plus, but not mandatory.
9. If you have specific projects that best highlight your skills with real estate videos, long form YouTube, photo editing, color grading, etc, please include the links to those specific projects in addition to your portfolio link. This way we can find your best work easily.
This is a full-time role, about 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work may come up during busy periods, and I'll always give you advance notice. I respect your time off and won't treat weekends as the default.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a short paid trial edit so I can see your real work on real footage. I'll tell you the exact payment amount before you start, so you can accept or decline. I pay for the trial because I respect your time.
If this sounds like you, I'd love to see what you can do. Let's build something great together!
