JOB OVERVIEW

$8.75 USD per hour. 15 hours per week guaranteed, up to 20 as required.

About us

Ready2Exit is Australia's leading SMB M&A advisory firm. We help business owners sell the companies they have spent twenty or thirty years building, and we help buyers acquire them properly. Most of the people we deal with are owner operators in trades, manufacturing and services, and for almost all of them, selling their business is the largest financial decision they will ever make.

I am Stuart Earl, Investor, M&A Advisor and leader of Australia's largest business marketplace with over 180,000 members.

We are a lean team which means this role carries more weight than the same title would carry somewhere larger. You will work directly with me every day. What you do will show up directly in whether this business grows, and you will be able to watch that happen rather than take my word for it.

What we care about
Most business owners only sell a business once in their life. The industry does not serve them well, and the complaints are always the same: overpromising, no transparency, and no real buyer engagement. We built Ready2Exit to fix that, through preparation, honesty and doing the work properly.

Three things matter here more than anything else, and they will shape your day.

The first is speed. When a business owner calls us back, they are d ---------- in that ---------- nt whether we are serious people. A response forty five minutes later answers that question for them, and not in our favour.
The second is precision. Details are not administration in this business. A wrong figure in a follow up email can cost us a mandate that took months to win.
The third is honesty, and that includes honesty upwards. If I have made a mistake, I would rather hear it from you on the day than find it myself a fortnight later. The same applies in the other direction, and I will tell you directly when something is not right. Most people prefer working that way once they get used to it.

The role
You will own the front line of our communication, in both directions.

On one side, we run outreach campaigns and paid advertising that generate inbound calls, replies and form submissions. Those currently sit too long before anyone answers them, and it is the single biggest gap in our week. Closing that gap is the main reason this role exists.

On the other side, when we take on a business to sell, we build a list of buyers who might be a fit and we call them. That outbound work is yours as well. It is not cold selling. It is ringing people who are actively looking to buy a business and telling them we have something worth a conversation.

Either way, you are the first person from Ready2Exit that a buyer or a business owner ever speaks to. That is not an administrative job, and I do not intend to treat it as one.

What you will be responsible for

The list below is in priority order, and the order genuinely matters. When two things compete, the one higher up wins. You will never need to ask my permission to drop something for an inbound call.

Inbound response. Every call, reply and form submission that comes from our campaigns. Qualify it against criteria I will give you, then book it, route it or close it out. Log every single one. You own that contact from the first touch through to a booked appointment.

Outbound buyer outreach. When we have a business on the market, you will work through a buyer list by phone and email, introduce the opportunity, and book the ones who are interested.

Callbacks and appointment booking. Returning missed calls and managing my diary around them.

Follow up. Post pitch follow up by email and phone, on a cadence that you own and run without me reminding you, plus a weekly sweep of the pipeline for anything that has gone quiet.

Scheduling and rescheduling. Multi party, across time zones, with nothing dropped.

Administration. Onboarding emails and forms, and setting up document folders and permissions for live deals.

The standard

We are a high performance team and we thrive on overdelivering for our clients.

Fifteen minutes is the response time inside your window. We will measure it, and it will be your key measure of success.
Some mornings a campaign goes out and inbound will take your entire window. Other mornings it will be quiet and you will work through the background list. Both of those are normal and neither is a problem.

Outside your window we are honestly uncovered. Automation acknowledges people and you call them at the start of the next morning. We do not pretend to be larger than we are.

Who I am looking for

You have worked somewhere the phone was the revenue. That might be a medical or dental front desk, service dispatch, roadside assistance, insurance claims intake, hotel reservations, client services at a broking firm, or an inbound queue with a target on the wall. What matters is that you have done this under a clock rather than at your own pace.

You will know the specific feeling of being halfway through careful work when something urgent lands. You can deal with the urgent thing, log it properly before you move on, and then go back and finish the careful work without breaking it. Most people manage two of those three. If you can do all three reliably, you are the person I want to talk to.

Your English needs to be strong in both directions. You will be speaking with Australian owner operators in trades, manufacturing and services, and they will hang up if following you takes effort. You will also be writing emails that go out under my name into live deals, so your written English needs to be good enough that I can send it as it is.

You should get a kick out of a fast moving environment where things change without much warning. Some mornings the plan lasts ten minutes before a campaign lands or a deal moves. If that reads as chaos to you, this will not suit. If it reads as a good morning, we should talk. The people who do well here are the ones who are comfortable in the unknown and would rather work something out than wait to be told.

Beyond that, I am looking for someone who is genuinely detail obsessed, to the point of finding the error nobody told you was there. Someone who can be given an outcome rather than a method and work out the rest without needing to be walked through it. Someone who does not need me standing behind them. And someone with mature confidence, by which I mean you will tell me when you think I am wrong, once, with your reasoning, and then get on with the decision either way.
What you get

The rate is $8.75 USD per hour, with 15 hours guaranteed and up to 20 hours in weeks where the volume requires it, at the same rate. You are also paid 13th month.

On growth, I will be straight with you rather than make a promise I cannot stand behind. Our volume is increasing and my intention is to take this role to 30 hours or more within three months. That will happen when the workload supports it and when you have shown you can hold the standard, not on a fixed date I invent now to make this advertisement more attractive. If both of those things are true, the hours are there and the path to full time is real.

You will work directly with me, with no layers in between. You will get proper training, and you will learn how business acquisitions actually work, which is exposure that very few people in this market ever get. You will also be trusted with confidential financial information and live deals from early on, because there is no version of this job where you are kept at arm's length from the real work.

Nice to have, though not required
Experience with GoHighLevel, SharePoint or OneDrive, exposure to Australian clients, or a background in professional services or finance.

How to apply
Please read this section properly. A large number of applications will be set aside for missing a step, and that is deliberate.
1. Begin your application with the word DISPATCH.
2. Then answer these three questions, briefly:

- What was your response time target in your last role, and what happened when you missed it?
- Tell me about the last time something urgent interrupted you mid task. What happened to the work you were in the middle of?
- What is your internet speed, and what do you do when it drops out?

3. Record a video of one to two minutes and include the link. An unlisted YouTube video, a Loom or a Google Drive link are all fine. Speak to camera and tell me why this role interests you, why you are the right fit for it, and what makes you the standout candidate.

Please do not script it. I want to hear you think. A polished read tells me nothing about how you will sound on a live call with an Australian business owner, and that is the part of the job I actually need to assess.

Attach your CV.
