Marketing Assistant Role
Marketing / Creative Lead
Their purpose is:
Turn Quarters strategy into consistently strong, on-brand marketing execution across every client.
They are not just coordinating creatives. They are responsible for making sure the creative standard exists, is maintained and actually gets delivered.
What you own
1. Creative direction
They establish and maintain the visual direction for each client:
Brand moodboards
Visual references
Social grid direction
Static ad direction and design
Photography and shoot direction
Typography, colour and layout consistency
Content formats and recurring series
Campaign visual concepts
Reference brands and inspiration
Quality control across all published assets
They should be able to look at a client’s social media, ads,
They become the guardian of each client’s brand expression.
2. Hands-on static design
At your current size, they should absolutely be capable of producing design work themselves.
That should include:
Static Meta ads
Carousels
Promotional graphics
Social media posts
Campaign announcements
Story assets
Email
Basic website graphics
Moodboards and visual presentations
Simple brand guideline documents
They do not need to be an elite graphic designer capable of complex identity projects.
They do need:
Strong taste
Excellent Canva or Adobe ability
A clear understanding of hierarchy
Good typography
Commercial design instincts
The ability to model high-performing references without producing generic work
The standard should be:
“Can this person independently create a strong static campaign that Sean would be comfortable presenting to a client?”
3. Marketing campaign execution
They should be able to take a commercial goal such as:
Launch a new collection
Increase online revenue
Promote a seasonal offer
Improve customer retention
Launch a new website
Introduce a new service
And convert it into:
Campaign objective
Core message
Offer
Content angles
Static concepts
Video concepts
Organic content
Paid creative requirements
Email
Schedule
Deadlines
Responsibilities
Launch plan
They should not wait for you to prescribe every individual post.
You provide the higher-level diagnosis and direction. They build and execute the campaign around it.
4. Process building
This should be an explicit part of the role—not something you hope they do eventually.
They should build and continuously improve:
Client onboarding workflow
Brand immersion process
Campaign planning template
Content calendar system
Creative briefing template
Static ad production workflow
Video editing workflow
Approval process
Content scheduling process
Shoot planning system
Asset naming and file storage
Weekly client review process
Performance-to-creative feedback loop
Client offboarding or handover process
Each time they complete a task, they should ask:
“How do we turn this into a system that someone else can follow?”
That is how the role evolves from doing everything themselves into eventually managing a larger creative team.
5. Content operations
They should own the full flow from idea to publication:
Strategy ? concept ? brief ? production ? review ? approval ? scheduling ? performance review
That includes:
Ensuring content is planned ahead
Briefing editors
Briefing creators
Creating static assets
Reviewing initial edits
Managing client approvals
Maintaining content reserves
Scheduling approved content
Flagging missing assets
Reporting what performed
Updating future creative based on results
They own whether content is ready—not merely whether they sent someone a message about it.
6. Client activation
This is especially important for solving your current bottleneck.
Once you close a new client, the Marketing Manager should be capable of moving them through:
Onboarding
Access collection
Brand immersion
Existing asset review
Campaign priorities
Visual direction
Content plan
Creative briefs
Production
Approval
Scheduling
Active campaign delivery
You should still lead strategic workshops and major commercial decisions, but the Marketing Manager should drive the client from signed to operational.
What the role is not
The main Meta buyer
A full-time video editor
A website developer
A customer service assistant
A project manager who produces nothing
A social media scheduler waiting for instructions
A junior designer who cannot make campaign decisions
They need to combine creative judgement, hands-on production and operational ownership.
The ideal candidate profile
You are looking for someone who is:
Creatively led
Commercially aware
Strong at static design
Extremely organised
Capable of building systems
Comfortable taking ownership
Able to give clear feedback to editors
Interested in brands, campaigns and consumer psychology
Fast without becoming careless
Able to move between fashion, health, beauty, travel and other clients
Confident enough to challenge weak creative
Resourceful enough to solve problems without waiting for you
Their portfolio should show more than attractive posts.
You want evidence that they can create:
Cohesive brand worlds
Campaign concepts
Conversion-focused statics
Social media systems
Clear visual direction
Commercially relevant creative
