JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a part-time developer to help build and maintain SaaS products, iOS apps, and Android apps.

This role is approximately 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Central Time. You must be consistently available during these hours.

You will primarily use AI coding tools, including Claude Code and GLM, which we will provide. We are looking for someone who already understands software development fundamentals and can use AI tools to work faster, not someone who depends on AI without being able to review, debug, and improve the resulting code.

Responsibilities include:

Building and improving SaaS web applications
Developing iOS and Android applications
Debugging issues and reviewing AI-generated code
Working with APIs, databases, authentication, and third-party services
Testing your own work before submitting it
Communicating progress, questions, and blockers clearly
Working within existing codebases and following written specifications

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with [add your web stack, such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js]
Experience with [Swift/SwiftUI, React Native, Flutter, or your actual mobile stack]
Familiarity with Git and GitHub
Experience using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar AI development tools
Ability to troubleshoot problems independently
Strong written English
A Mac is preferred because of our iOS work, but it is not required initially

To apply, please include:

A short description of your development experience.
Links to your GitHub profile, portfolio, or applications you have built.
The web and mobile technologies you know best.
Which AI coding tools you have used.
Your computer specifications and whether you own a Mac.
Your desired hourly rate.
Confirmation that you can work 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.

Begin your application with the word “Jellyfish” so we know you read the full post.

One important issue: if they will actually compile, test, and submit native iOS applications, a Mac eventually becomes necessary. If they are only editing code while another developer or cloud build system handles compilation, you can leave it as preferred.

I would also give shortlisted candidates a paid two-to-three-hour trial task. AI-assisted developers can look unusually capable in an application, so the trial should test whether they can understand an unfamiliar codebase, diagnose a bug, implement a small change, and explain what they changed.
