Ontario-based law firm requiring bookkeeping and accounting support specific to legal practice operations.

Job Description:
The contractor will handle the firm's day-to-day bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping using CosmoLex, with particular attention to accounting requirements and processes specific to Ontario law firms.

Key Responsibilities:
-Manage day-to-day legal bookkeeping and financial records.
-Maintain accurate transactions and accounting records in CosmoLex.
-Handle client-related financial records and legal accounting documentation.
-Perform account and transaction reconciliations.
-Maintain organized financial documentation and records.
-Assist with billing, payments, expenses, and other bookkeeping requirements.
-Ensure bookkeeping practices are aligned with Ontario law firm accounting requirements.
-Provide regular financial and bookkeeping updates as needed.

Candidate Requirements:
-Previous bookkeeping experience with an Ontario law firm is required.
-Experience using CosmoLex or similar legal accounting software.
-Strong understanding of legal bookkeeping and law firm accounting processes.
-Highly organized and detail-oriented.
-Comfortable handling confidential financial and client information.
-Able to work independently and maintain accurate records.

Main Priority:
We need someone who already understands Ontario legal bookkeeping, rather than a general bookkeeper who would need to learn law firm accounting from scratch. Experience with CosmoLex is strongly preferred.
