Temporary Accounting Data Migration Specialist

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Data Migration Specialist to support a financial systems transition for our nonprofit church. This project involves migrating financial data between ShelbyNext, QuickBooks, and Realm while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of nonprofit fund accounting records.

The ideal candidate has experience with accounting software conversions, nonprofit accounting, and reconciling financial data across multiple systems.

Project Responsibilities:
- Migrate 2025 financial data (January 1–September 30) from ShelbyNext to QuickBooks.
- Migrate 2026 financial data (January through current) from QuickBooks to Realm.
- Map financial data between existing charts of accounts where account structures and numbering may vary between systems.
- Ensure proper coding of funds, net assets, income, expenses, and balance sheet accounts throughout the migration process.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of migrated financial records through reconciliation and validation.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies encountered during the migration process.
- Work with church staff to clarify account mappings and validate financial information.
- Document account mappings, adjustments, and migration procedures, as needed.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with accounting data migrations or financial system conversions.
- Understanding of nonprofit accounting and fund accounting principles.
- Experience reconciling financial records and validating accounting data.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Ability to interpret and map chart of accounts between different accounting systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information.
