Finance Therapy Group is a rapidly growing U.S. accounting, tax, and CFO advisory firm serving entrepreneurs across the country.
We are transitioning into an AI-first accounting firm, and we're building a bookkeeping department that delivers CFO-ready financials—not basic bookkeeping.
We're looking for someone who wants to help build that department.
Your Mission
You are not responsible for simply completing bookkeeping.
You are responsible for the success of our bookkeeping department.
Your job is to build, lead, coach, review, improve, and elevate the team.

Your Responsibilities
Department Leadership
Lead and manage the bookkeeping department.
Supervise, coach, and develop bookkeeping staff.
Hold tea
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
Create an environment of ownership, accountability, and excellence.
Train and onboard new bookkeeping staff.
Develop future leaders within the department.
Quality Control
You will review ALL bookkeeping before client delivery.
You are expected to:
Catch mistakes.
Find missing transactions.
Identify inconsistencies.
Correct inaccurate financial reporting.
Review reconciliations thoroughly.
Review journal entries.
Ensure every client receives accurate financials.
We expect our clients to trust our numbers without question.
Client Ownership
You should understand every client you oversee.
You will:
Identify accounting issues before the client notices them.
Ask intelligent questions.
Investigate unusual transactions.
Resolve discrepancies.
Communicate professionally with clients.
Deliver books that are complete, accurate, and CFO-ready.
Payroll Expertise
You MUST have strong payroll knowledge.
This includes:
QuickBooks Payroll
ADP
Gusto
Multi-state payroll
Payroll tax setup
State payroll registrations
Federal payroll compliance
Payroll reconciliations
Quarterly payroll reporting
You should know how to set payroll up correctly not simply process payroll. And Also be open to learning other client systems.
Accounts Payable
Experience managing:
Vendor payments
Bill Pay
Accounts Payable
Vendor reconciliations
Cash flow considerations
Payment scheduling
AI & Technology

Required Experience
5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping
5+ years reviewing bookkeeping
5+ years leading a bookkeeping or accounting team
Advanced QuickBooks Online
Strong English communication
Payroll implementation experience
Bill Pay experience
Client-facing experience
Outstanding organizational skills
