# Senior Portrait Production Manager
**Remote, Full-Time**
**Salary: $1,000 to $1,200 CAD per month, approx. Based on $9 CAD per hour. Approx 120+ a month**
Hudson Wren Portraits is a luxury, full-service portrait studio serving clients through our 2 locations in Canada.
We specialize in timeless black-and-white portrait artwork designed to become part of a family’s story.
We are looking for an experienced production specialist to take complete ownership of portrait orders after the client’s ordering appointment, from final editing through product ordering and delivery.
This is not an entry-level photo-editing or virtual-assistant position. We need someone with the technical skill, judgment and attention to detail to deliver finished work without requiring the owner to inspect every order.
##Your Responsibilities
You will:
* Review each client’s ordered portraits, product selections and retouching instructions
* Complete natural, polished and consistent portrait retouching
* Finalize black-and-white tones, cropping, skin work, background cleanup and image consistency
* Design portrait artwork, print layouts, wall groupings and other client products
* Prepare print-ready files using the correct dimensions, resolution, colour profiles and naming conventions
* Conduct a complete quality-control review before anything is ordered or delivered
* Place product orders with our professional laboratories and suppliers
* Verify that names, images, sizes, finishes, quantities and shipping details are correct
* Maintain accurate production records and monitor every order through completion
* Communicate professionally with clients regarding approvals, revisions, delivery updates and questions
* Upload digital galleries and confirm that clients receive the correct files
* Identify potential problems before they become client problems
* Recommend improvements to our production systems and workflows
## Required Experience
You must have:
* At least five years of professional experience in portrait, wedding or commercial photography post-production
* Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills
* Strong experience with Photoshop and comparable professional software
* A portfolio demonstrating natural portrait retouching and strong black-and-white work
* Experience preparing files for professional printing and physical artwork production
* A clear understanding of cropping, sizing, resolution, colour management and print specifications
* Strong graphic design and visual layout skills
* Excellent written and spoken English
* Experience communicating directly with clients
* Exceptional organization and attention to detail
* The ability to follow established procedures while also using sound independent judgment
* A reliable computer, secure internet connection and professional remote working environment
* Availability for at least two hours of overlap with Pacific Time business hours
Experience with professional photography laboratories, online galleries, CRMs and order-management systems is an advantage.
## Compensation
The starting salary will be between **$1,000 and $1,200 USD per month**, depending on experience and demonstrated ability.
The salary will increase to **$1,200 USD per month** once the successful candidate demonstrates they can independently complete, quality-check and release routine client orders without owner approval.
## What Success Looks Like
Within your first 30 to 60 days, you should be able to manage routine portrait orders without requiring approval before they are released.
You will be measured on:
* Accuracy of portrait edits and product orders
* Consistency with the Hudson Wren visual standard
* On-time completion of production deadlines
* Clear and professional client communication
* Number of orders requiring corrections or reordering
* Ability to identify and solve problems independently
* Accurate tracking and documentation
## The Person We Are Looking For
You are someone who checks the spelling of the client’s name, confirms the crop ratio, reviews the retouching notes and opens the final files one last time before placing an order.
You do not wait for someone else to find mistakes.
You care about both the artwork and the client experience. You take pride in delivering work correctly the first time.
## How to Apply
Please include:
1. A short introduction describing your relevant experience
2. Five before-and-after examples of portrait retouching
3. Examples of artwork, album, print or wall-art layouts you have designed
4. A description of your process for taking an approved portrait order through editing, production and delivery
5. Your current time zone and working availability
7. An example of a professional client
Applications without a relevant portfolio of portraits will not be considered.
Final candidates will be asked to complete a paid production assessment using sample portrait files and client instructions.
This is a long-term position for someone who wants to become a trusted and important part of our company.
