We are looking for a Procurement Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building supplier relationships, negotiating favorable commercial terms, solving supply chain challenges, and continuously improving procurement operations. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, proactive, highly organized, and comfortable working with suppliers across multiple countries and cultures.



Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing and managing suppliers across the United States and Asia, negotiating pricing and commercial terms, evaluating supplier capabilities, and ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials.

This role plays a critical part in protecting supply continuity, reducing procurement costs, supporting contract manufacturing initiatives, and ensuring Starbond maintains a diversified supplier network that supports long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing
Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers across the United States and Asia.
Conduct supplier research, RFQs, quotation comparisons, and supplier evaluations.
Develop and maintain qualified primary and backup suppliers for critical materials.
Identify new sourcing opportunities that improve cost, quality, and supply continuity.
Support contract manufacturer and third-party logistics (3PL) sourcing initiatives.
Verify supplier capabilities, certifications, and compliance requirements.

Supplier Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers.
Monitor supplier responsiveness, lead times, pricing, and overall performance.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and maintain supplier scorecards.
Coordinate corrective actions when supplier performance issues arise.
Work closely with suppliers to resolve procurement challenges and minimize operational disruptions.

Cost Optimization
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements.
Analyze supplier quotations and landed costs.
Benchmark supplier pricing and market conditions.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and supply reliability.
Recommend sourcing strategies that improve overall profitability.

Procurement Operations
Maintain accurate supplier records and procurement databases.
Support purchase order creation and supplier follow-ups.
Keep supplier pricing, lead times, MOQs, and procurement data up to date.
Organize procurement documentation and sourcing records.
Ensure procurement information is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare procurement reports and sourcing updates.
Maintain procurement dashboards and tracking tools.
Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations.
Proactively identify supply risks and recommend mitigation strategies.


Qualifications

Required
Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain.
Hands-on experience working with both U.S. and Asian suppliers (China, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, or other APAC countries).
Proven experience sourcing, qualifying, and negotiating with international suppliers.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
Excellent analytical and cost analysis abilities.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Preferred
Experience working with contract manufacturers or OEM/ODM suppliers.
Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial products, chemicals, or eCommerce businesses.
Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or procurement management systems.
Experience analyzing supplier performance metrics and procurement KPIs.
