JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a talented researcher and scriptwriter to help produce YouTube videos and a weekly podcast about war, geopolitics, and Western civilization — without relying on AI.

WHO WE ARE
We are a US-based geopolitics education brand. Our mission is to help Americans understand war, geopolitics, and the ideas behind western civilization so that the world doesn’t become a victim of groups like the Chinese Communists, Vladimir Putin in Russia, Drug Cartels, Islamic Terrorism, etc.

GEOPOLITICS RESEARCH AND SCRIPTS FOR YOUTUBE
Your main job will be to identify, research, and write fun, engaging, entertaining, story-based scripts about real geopolitical events.

Here are some example topics you may be assigned to write about:
* 11 Bombs Exploded Across Thailand in One Night — And No One Took Credit
* Ukraine’s Spies Helped to Fake a Man’s Death
* China Used Fisherman to Dump Poison into the Philippines’ Sea

Each script will be 2,000-5,000 words.

Your work may include:
* Finding strong video ideas and underreported stories
* Researching events through credible sources
* Identifying the central conflict, mystery, or question
* Writing clear and compelling spoken-word scripts
* Finding useful clips, photographs, maps, documents, and other visuals
* Providing organized source links and research notes

WEEKLY GEOPOLITICS NEWS PODCAST SEGMENTS
You will also help an American host, research and prepare a weekly podcast covering current international news.

This may include verifying facts, explaining important background, identifying the strongest angle, finding supporting clips and quotations, and preparing research briefs or draft script sections.

STORYTELLING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SKILL
The most important skill for this position is the ability to tell a true story that keeps peoples’ attention while also educating them.

You should know how to write a strong opening hook, establish the stakes, build curiosity, reveal information in the right order, re-engage viewers throughout the script, and build toward a meaningful conclusion.

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WITHOUT A MANUAL.
You will often receive only a general story idea and a few notes, and you will be expected to research it, find the strongest angle, and develop the script without a detailed outline or step-by-step manual.

We will discuss creative preferences and provide feedback, but this position is not a good fit for someone who needs constant direction. We want someone who brings original ideas, suggests stories, makes thoughtful creative decisions, and knows how to turn an event into something people will want to watch.

TEAMWORK
You will work directly with a Philippines-based video editor who creates maps, graphics, timelines, and other visual elements.

You will help identify what should appear on screen, including locations, dates, statistics, quotations, photographs, clips, and documents. You should communicate clearly and have enough visual judgment to help the editor use visuals that strengthen the story.

QUALIFICATIONS
You don’t need any specific qualifications or formal education for this role. If you can research and write scripts that keep people’s attention (without using AI and without needing constant guidance), then you are qualified to apply!

USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
You must be able to write independently without AI. You must perform the actual thinking, storytelling, and writing yourself.

AI may be used only to assist with initial research, locate possible sources, and proofread for basic spelling or grammatical errors. You cannot use AI to write, rewrite, outline, structure, or generate any part of your submitted work.

Everything you submit will be reviewed using AI-detection tools. Work that appears to have been generated by AI will not be accepted.

FUN, BUT PROFESSIONAL

We are a small, light-hearted and fun team to work with, but we take our work very seriously and we dedicate ourselves to creating excellent videos that help people understand war, geopolitics, and the values of western civilization.

You will be held to high standards of excellence. Remote work is not an excuse for laziness or sloppy work.

APPLICATION

If you believe you are a good candidate for this role and are looking for a chance to prove it, please submit your resume and any relevant writing samples or links to published work.

Also, write the word "Magellan" at the beginning of your response so we know you read the entire posting.

Selected applicants will be invited to complete a paid test assignment based on the actual research and writing required for the position.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
