Credit Repair Specialist – Required Skills & Qualifications
1. Credit Report Analysis (Expert Level)
The specialist should be able to:
Read and interpret credit reports from all three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion).
Identify inaccurate, unverifiable, outdated, duplicated, and misleading accounts.
Analyze payment history, utilization ratios, collections, charge-offs, inquiries, repossessions, foreclosures, judgments, bankruptcies, and public records.
Determine which items are legally disputable.
Recognize reporting inconsistencies between the three bureaus.
Understand credit scoring factors and how different accounts affect FICO and VantageScore models.

Job Description
The Credit Repair Specialist will be responsible for managing client credit files, preparing and submitting disputes, handling identity theft cases, and ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with Dispute Fox software and direct interaction with all major credit bureaus.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze consumer credit reports from all major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, Innovis, ChexSystems, LexisNexis, and others)
Draft, submit, and track dispute letters using Dispute Fox software
Handle complex dispute cases including late payments, charge-offs, collections, bankruptcies, repossessions, and foreclosures
Manage and resolve identity theft and fraud-related cases
Apply consumer law knowledge (FCRA, FDCPA, FACTA, CFPB guidelines) to dispute strategies
Communicate with credit bureaus, creditors, and data furnishers
Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely follow-ups
Ensure full compliance with federal and state credit repair regulations
Provide internal updates on case progress and results
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Credit Repair Specialist
Strong knowledge of consumer credit laws (FCRA, FDCPA, FACTA, etc.)
Extensive experience handling identity theft and fraud disputes
High-level proficiency in Dispute Fox software (required)
Hands-on experience working with all major credit bureaus and data furnishers
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple client files efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of professional credit repair experience
Experience with CFPB complaints and escalated disputes
Background in compliance or legal support related to consumer law
Familiarity with Metro 2 reporting standards
