About The Home Care CPAs
We are a niche accounting and advisory firm dedicated exclusively to the home care industry. Our clients rely on us for more than compliance. We are active financial partners in their business.
Our signature client deliverable is Client Compass, a monthly financial dashboard that gives owners and operators a clear, concise view of their agency's financial performance. It is one of our core differentiators, and the person in this role will own the preparation of it.
We are a progressive, modern firm that believes in integrating work into life -- not the other way around. We encourage curiosity, reward ownership, and are not afraid to say "we don't know, but let's find out."
We are a close-knit team, and we take fit seriously. The ideal person for this role is someone who takes pride in their work, communicates openly, and brings a positive attitude to the day-to-day. If you see something that could be done better, we want to hear it.
About the Role
This is an internal analyst role responsible for preparing the Client Compass dashboard each month for a portfolio of clients on our Premium Accounting Plan. The dashboard primarily draws on data from QuickBooks Online, CRM and payroll platforms, and is built and maintained in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Beyond the monthly close cycle, this role will also support annual budgeting and other analytical projects as directed. You will work closely with a lead accounting manager and a fractional CFO, and will be expected to manage timelines, communicate proactively, and hold a high bar for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
-Prepare Client Compass dashboards on a monthly basis for a portfolio of Premium Accounting Plan clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
-Maintain and update dashboard data sets in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including data pulled from QuickBooks Online and external sources
-Perform analysis on monthly and year-to-date financial results and draft written observations for review by the lead accounting manager and fractional CFO
-Support annual client budgeting processes
-Identify opportunities to improve dashboard quality, automate recurring data tasks, and streamline internal workflows over time
What We're Looking For
Required
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including the ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot financial models and dashboard layouts
-Solid understanding of the three core financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows) and the ability to interpret results and articulate observations in writing
-Experience managing deliverables across multiple engagements simultaneously, with strong attention to deadline management
-Exceptional attention to detail in data entry, reconciliation, and presentation
-Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise financial commentary
-Self-directed and resourceful – comfortable navigating ambiguity and knowing when to escalate
-Comfort working with technology and a genuine interest in finding more efficient ways to get things done – we are an evolving firm and expect this role to grow with us
Preferred
-Experience with QuickBooks Online
-Background in public accounting or a multi-client environment
-Prior experience in the home care or elder care industry
