JOB OVERVIEW

We're hiring a Senior Platform Automation Engineer to own the CI/CD and build-automation backbone for a small, fast-moving engineering team building an AI governance platform for enterprise clients.

A minimal version of our core build pipeline is being stood up separately by a short-term contractor before this role starts. Your first responsibility won't be building from scratch - it'll be auditing what's been delivered against our full specification, hardening or rebuilding anything that doesn't meet standard, then taking long-term ownership: extending CI/CD across the whole engineering team, integrating our shared AI-assisted development workflow (we use Claude Code daily), and evolving our engineering standards as the team grows.

What you'll own: our GitHub Actions-based build pipeline and self-hosted runners, automated testing and regression infrastructure, engineering standards and PR conventions, and visibility into our AI/token spend across the team.
What you won't own: product architecture or privacy engineering (that's other specialist roles) - this is a pure platform/infrastructure position, not a product-feature role.

We're looking for 8+ years of senior software engineering experience with direct CI/CD and build-automation ownership, hands-on experience with Claude Code or equivalent AI-assisted coding pipelines (not just using it as an individual contributor), and strong testing discipline - you should treat AI-generated code, including code you inherit from others, as unproven until verified.

This is a fully remote, primarily asynchronous role. We keep live meetings to a minimum - typically just one or two scheduled check-ins per week with our CTO, timed to land at a reasonable hour for both sides.
We're building a long-term core team, not filling a short-term gig - compensation is negotiated individually based on your experience and what you bring to the role, and we intend to grow both pay and benefits as the team and company mature.

Our process: application review, then a short screening call, then a practical technical exercise relevant to the role, then a technical discussion with our CTO, then a final conversational interview, then offer. We aim to move quickly and keep you updated at each stage.
