Social Media Manager/Strategist (Instagram Lead Generation) — Part-Time
We are looking for a data-driven Social Media Manager/Strategist to grow and monetize the Instagram
presence for a physician-led mentorship brand that helps pre-med students, especially first-generation and
underrepresented students, navigate the path to medical school. This is not a “post and pray” role. We need
someone who understands social media as a lead generation engine, not just a content calendar.
About the Brand
We are a physician-led mentorship brand built around a proprietary coaching framework, currently growing
our digital presence to support course and mentorship offers. Content already exists, talking-head videos,
Reels using proven storytelling frameworks, and we need someone to take it from “created” to
“converting.”
What You'll Do:
Content Operations
• Take raw video content created by the founder and handle all post-production: editing, captioning, and
scheduling across Instagram (primary) and other platforms as needed
• Maintain a consistent, strategic posting cadence aligned with our content pillars and funnel strategy
• Ensure every piece of content ladders back to a clear call-to-action
Lead Generation & Engagement (Most Important Responsibility)
• Proactively engage with our ideal client avatar, pre-med students, particularly first-generation and
underrepresented students navigating the medical school admissions process, to build genuine
relationships and pull them into our orbit
• Manage and grow DM conversations, including converting comment/DM triggers into warm leads
• Identify and engage in relevant online communities, hashtags, and conversations where our ideal
audience is already active
• Follow-back and conversion strategy for new followers and engaged prospects
• Treat engagement as a lead-generation activity, not a vanity metric
Data & Strategy
• Review analytics weekly (reach, engagement, saves, shares, follower growth, link clicks, DM conversion)
and translate the data into clear recommendations
• A/B test content formats, hooks, and CTAs to improve lead conversion over time
• Provide a simple weekly or biweekly report showing what's working, what's not, and what you
recommend adjusting
• Make proactive recommendations, we want a strategist, not just an executor
Who You Are
• 2+ years managing Instagram for a brand, coach, consultant, or course creator with a documented
history of generating leads (not just followers or likes)
• Strong understanding of Instagram's current algorithm, Reels strategy, and organic growth tactics
• Skilled in short-form video editing (CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar)
• Comfortable initiating and carrying authentic conversations in DMs, this role requires real relationship-
building, not copy-paste outreach
• Analytical mindset, you're comfortable in Instagram Insights and can speak to metrics, not just describe
them
• Excellent written English communication
• Self-directed and comfortable owning a workstream with minimal oversight once ramped up
