ABOUT THE COMPANY
We are a founder-led, tech-enabled real estate platform with offices in North America and Manila. We operate at the intersection of real estate, construction, finance, and technology — supporting the US real estate industry across transactions ranging from $1M to $150M. Company name will be disclosed during the interview process.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Bookkeeper and Compliance Coordinator to keep our financial records clean and our regulatory obligations on track. You will split your time evenly between day-to-day bookkeeping across our operating entities and managing Philippine government compliance — BIR, SEC, DHSUD, LGU permits, and import and export logistics with customs. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning deadlines without being chased.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Bookkeeping
• Record and reconcile daily transactions across accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare monthly financial reports, bank reconciliations, and expense summaries
• Maintain organized and audit-ready records for multiple entities
• Process payroll entries, reimbursements, and vendor payments on schedule
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors during review and reporting periods
• Flag discrepancies and escalate issues to leadership with supporting documentation
Compliance & Legal Coordination
• Manage BIR filings, tax deadlines, and correspondence — ensuring nothing is missed or late
• Handle SEC filings, annual reports, and corporate documentation for Philippine-registered entities
• Coordinate DHSUD requirements and track submission timelines
• Manage LGU business permit renewals, barangay clearances, and local government requirements across office locations
• Support import and export logistics — coordinating with customs brokers, preparing documentation, and tracking clearances
• Monitor compliance calendars and send proactive reminders to the team on upcoming deadlines
• Liaise with external lawyers, government offices, and third-party compliance service providers as needed
• Maintain a central tracker for all active permits, filings, and compliance items across entities
REQUIREMENTS
• 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with hands-on AP/AR and reconciliation work
• Direct experience with BIR compliance — filings, deadlines, and correspondence
• Familiarity with SEC and DHSUD requirements for Philippine-registered companies
• Experience managing LGU permits and local government coordination
• Exposure to import and export documentation and customs processes in the Philippines
• Strong organizational skills — you manage multiple deadlines across different entities without dropping anything
• Clear written and verbal communication in English and Filipino
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Legal Management, or a related field
• CPA license is an advantage but not required
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities or a holding company structure is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with logistics coordination or freight forwarding documentation
• Comfortable working with external lawyers and government liaisons to move filings forward
TOOLS YOU WILL USE
• QuickBooks or Xero — bookkeeping and financial records
• Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets — reconciliations, trackers, and reporting
• Google Workspace —
•
• BIR eServices portal — tax filings and correspondence
• SEC Online Filing and Submissions (OFS) portal
