JOB OVERVIEW

# Social Media Manager (Part-Time, Trades / Local Service) — Strategy + Content, Long-Term

Applications that skip the steps at the bottom will be ignored.**

## About the role

We run two established Australian trade businesses: an electrical services company and a security installation company (CCTV, alarms, intercoms, access control). Both are licensed, insured, and well reviewed. We want social media that builds local trust and brings in enquiries, not vanity followers.

We are looking for a part-time Social Media Manager to work with us **long-term on an ongoing retainer**. One manager will handle both brands.

This is a **strategy and content role**. The day-to-day posting, commenting, and message replies, and local business outreach are handled in-house by our executive assistant. That means your role stays focused on planning and creating, not manual busywork. You will work directly with the business owner, who approves the monthly plan.

## What you will do

- Build a simple **monthly content plan** for both brands and get it approved by the owner
- Create the actual content: posts, graphics, and short reels
- Write captions in each brand's voice, local and human, not generic
- D ---------- themes, cadence, and what each platform focuses on to drive enquiries
- Report monthly on what worked and adjust the next plan accordingly

## What our EA handles (so your scope is clear)

- Scheduling and posting the content you create
- Replying to comments and direct messages
- Outreach to local builders, real estate agents, and property managers

You plan and create. The EA executes day to day off your approved plan. This keeps your hours focused and your rate fair.

## What we are looking for (must-have)

- Proven experience running social accounts for real businesses, with **live account links you can show us**
- Can **plan and create**, not just post: you can propose a monthly content plan and then produce it
- Strong short-video editing (reels, CapCut or similar)
- Graphic and post design that looks clean and professional
- Captions and copy in natural, local-sounding English, no generic filler
- Understands that the goal is **leads and enquiries**, not follower counts
- Clear written English, reliable with deadlines, comfortable working to an approved plan

## Big bonus (this moves you to the top of the pile)

- Experience with **trades or home service businesses**: electricians, plumbers, HVAC, security, builders
- Experience turning **job-site photos and clips** into content that gets engagement
- Understanding of local social: suburb reach, Facebook local groups, Google Business Profile posts
- Comfortable reporting on results and tying content back to enquiries

## Tools you will use

Meta Business Suite, Canva, CapCut or similar video editor, and a shared content calendar we will provide. Google Business Profile experience is a plus.

## Schedule and pay

- Part-time, ongoing retainer with consistent monthly work
- Timezone overlap with Sydney, Australia (we are 2 to 3 hours ahead of Philippine time, so this is an easy overlap)
- Probationary rate for the first 30 to 60 days, then an increase based on performance
- Paid regularly via Wise or Payoneer
- No upfront or advance payments. A short **paid test** is required for final candidates.

This is a long-term role for the right person. We would rather keep one reliable manager than churn through many.

## How to apply

Start your message with the word **SPARK** so we know you read the full post. Applications without it will not be opened.

Then send:

1. **2 to 3 live social accounts you have run** (links, not screenshots). Trades or local service examples preferred.
2. **1 or 2 examples of reels or short videos** you edited.
3. Your **monthly rate expectation** for this part-time scope, plus your **weekly availability and timezone**.
4. Short answers to these:
- How do you turn a social post into an actual enquiry or phone call for a local service business? Give a real example.
- You would plan and create the content, while our EA handles posting, replies, and outreach. Are you comfortable with that split?
- Walk us through how you would plan one month of content for a local electrician or security installer. What themes and formats would you use?
- What do you look at to know your content is working, beyond follower count?

A 1- to 2-minute video intro is preferred but not required.

We reply to applicants who follow these steps. We look forward to seeing your work.
