We are looking for a creative and analytical YouTube Thumbnail Designer who can combine outstanding design skills with data-driven decision-making. This role focuses on improving the performance of existing YouTube videos by redesigning thumbnails that increase click-through rates (CTR) and attract more viewers.
This is a long-term remote opportunity for someone passionate about YouTube, visual storytelling, and performance marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze existing YouTube videos to identify opportunities for thumbnail optimization
Use YouTube Analytics, search trends, and competitor research to prioritize redesigns
Study high-performing thumbnails and apply proven design principles
Create eye-catching, high-contrast thumbnails that are clear, engaging, and optimized for clicks
Use AI image-generation tools alongside traditional design software to produce original concepts
Present redesigns with a brief explanation of the design decisions and expected impact
Monitor thumbnail performance and optimize based on click-through rate (CTR) data
Collaborate with the content team on publishing priorities and ongoing optimization
Design thumbnails for new content after the existing library has been optimized
Requirements
2+ years of graphic design experience, preferably for YouTube or social media
Strong proficiency with Adobe Photoshop or equivalent design software
Hands-on experience using AI image-generation tools such as Midjourney or similar in a production workflow
Experience researching competitors and using data to guide design decisions
Familiarity with YouTube Analytics and performance metrics
Understanding of A/B testing and optimization principles
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Nice to Have
Experience designing for health, wellness, education, or lifestyle content
Familiarity with YouTube thumbnail testing tools
Knowledge of YouTube SEO and content optimization
