Open-Source AI Automation Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Open-Source AI Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain AI-powered systems using primarily open-source and self-hosted technologies. The goal is to create scalable automation infrastructure that can be reused across multiple businesses, websites, applications, and brands while minimizing ongoing software subscription costs.
This is not a prompt engineering role. We are looking for a technical builder who can develop complete AI-driven systems, automate business operations, connect software platforms, and deploy self-hosted solutions.

Responsibilities
• Design and build AI-powered automation systems using open-source technologies
• Develop reusable frameworks that can be deployed across multiple websites, brands, and business models
• Build automated content, research, publishing, and reporting systems
• Create AI agents for customer support, research, content generation, lead management, and internal operations
• Build and maintain websites, web applications, dashboards, and internal business tools
• Integrate APIs, databases, CRMs, communication platforms, and third-party software
• Develop automated workflows for content publishing, marketing, customer service, operations, and analytics
• Create systems that can be duplicated and customized for different industries, niches, and geographic markets
• Self-host and maintain automation infrastructure whenever practical
• Continuously identify opportunities to replace manual processes with AI-powered automation

Required Technical Skills
• Strong experience with open-source automation platforms such as n8n, Flowise, Langflow, or similar tools
• Python development
• JavaScript/TypeScript development
• API integrations and webhooks
• PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar databases
• Docker and containerized deployments
• Linux server administration
• WordPress and headless CMS platforms
• AI model integrations (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, open-weight models)
• Git and version control
