About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Underwriter / Credit Analyst to join our team. This role requires a strong background in banking and credit risk analysis, with the ability to assess financial health, evaluate creditworthiness, and make sound underwriting decisions. The ideal candidate will have a sharp analytical mindset, strong financial acumen, and proven experience in credit analysis within a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other documentation to assess borrower risk.
-Underwrite credit applications in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk tolerance.
-Prepare detailed credit memos with recommendations for approval, decline, or modifications.
-Collaborate with sales and operations teams to structure transactions that align with credit guidelines.
-Monitor portfolio performance and identify potential risk exposures.
-Stay current on industry trends, banking regulations, and credit risk best practices.
-Support process improvements and contribute to credit policy development.
Requirements
-Banking experience required (minimum 2–3 years in underwriting, credit analysis, or risk management).
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
-Strong knowledge of financial analysis, cash flow assessment, and credit risk evaluation.
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
-Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
-Proficiency with financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, and credit/loan origination systems.
