Company Overview
Codes Health is an innovative startup disrupting the legacy medical records space. Started just over a year ago, we have already expanded to support 60+ healthcare and legal companies, and are continuing to rapidly grow and expand our team.
Codes, at our core, does two things: (1) traditional medical record retrieval and (2) AI software applications built on top of those retrieved records.
We are rapidly expanding our core medical records team ("The Records Team"), and the Records Finishing Specialist is an integral member that we are looking to hire for immediately. This role sits at the very end of the pipeline — you are the final, most AI-leveraged step before a case summary reaches the customer. This is a long-term opportunity with competitive compensation, a supportive work environment, and a focus on your professional growth. You will be reporting directly to the COO.
Role Description
Final Case Summary Generation: Take completed, processed records and build the final output package delivered to the customer — a full case summary including diagnoses, procedures, a medical chronology, and supporting metadata. You run and manage our proprietary AI generation sequence (chronology generation, metadata extraction, page ordering, diagnosis and procedure extraction) end to end for every request.
AI-Assisted Clinical Review: Apply clinical/medical judgment to review, adjust, and validate every AI-generated extraction and summary before it goes out. You are the last line of defense — if a diagnosis, procedure citation, or chronology entry doesn't match the underlying documentation, you catch it and fix it.
Provider Report Cards: For select client accounts, produce provider report cards — a rating and written assessment of each provider based on the records reviewed — maintaining accuracy and consistency across a shared tracking sheet.
Escalation & Internal Communication: Identify deficiencies, missing components, or citation mismatches in completed requests and escalate them clearly to the appropriate internal team to resolve before delivery.
AI & Tooling Feedback Loop: Collaborate with our engineering and product teams to continuously improve the chronology/extraction AI models and internal review tools. Your day-to-day observations directly shape product enhancements — this is one of the fastest-changing, highest-leverage parts of our entire process.
Core Competencies
Records Review or Healthcare Background (Required): We strongly prefer candidates with prior medical record review experience or a background in healthcare (e.g., nurse, medical assistant, etc.). A solid understanding of medical terminology, documentation structures, and clinical workflows is essential.
Strong English Communication Skills: Clear, concise, polished written communication for internal escalation and for refining AI-generated summaries and chronologies.
Technological Proficiency: Comfortable navigating modern software tools and working with AI-enabled systems. Tech-savvy, curious, and fast at learning new systems.
Attention to Detail: You will catch inconsistencies, clinical errors, missing diagnoses, and mismatched citations that automated systems or customers may miss. Precision and consistency are absolutely critical — this output is what the customer actually sees.
Analytical Mindset & Clinical Judgment: Ability to interpret medical information, evaluate the relevance of clinical events, and assess whether a generated summary or chronology accurately reflects the underlying documentation.
Dependable & Proactive: A disciplined self-starter who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and raises issues early.
Long-Term Commitment: We prioritize tea
