About the Role
We're hiring a remote HRIS Analyst / UKG Systems Leader to own, optimize, and strategically elevate the HR technology infrastructure of a growing operational business, with particular depth in UKG.
This is not a task-taker role. HR systems are critical business infrastructure, not administrative tools. They drive workforce efficiency, compliance, reporting accuracy, and operational excellence. The right operator treats UKG and the HRIS stack as a strategic asset to be built, governed, and continuously improved.
You'll operate as the primary expert for HR systems architecture and governance, balancing technical depth with practical HR operations. You'll report into the CHRO and operate as an embedded member of the HR leadership team, with full support from Kayana's operations layer behind you.
What You'll Do
UKG System Ownership & Optimization
Lead configuration, optimization, and strategic oversight of UKG systems across timekeeping, scheduling, payroll, absence, compensation, and HR workflows
Reprogram business rules, policies, and workforce configurations as organizational needs evolve
Manage system upgrades, releases, integrations, and vendor relationships
Troubleshoot complex HRIS challenges while improving user adoption
HR Workflow & Service Management Design
Build scalable HR workflows and ticket routing systems for employee inquiries and HR service management
Translate HR operational needs into technical system solutions
Design processes that reduce friction for employees and HR staff
Analytics, Reporting & Dashboards
Analyze workforce data to improve operational decisions and executive insights
Design dashboards, custom reports, and analytics frameworks that leaders can trust
Establish reporting standards the broader HR team can operate against
Governance, Security & Data Integrity
Establish data governance, security structures, and process controls
Maintain system access policies and security configurations within UKG
Ensure compliance, audit-readiness, and integrity across all HR system data
Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
Cross-Functional Leadership & Mentorship
Train, mentor, and guide HR teams on system capabilities and best practices
Communicate confidently with leadership, vendors, and stakeholders
Lead cross-functional projects and systems initiatives
What We're Looking For
Required:
7+ years of HRIS/HCM systems experience
Deep UKG expertise across timekeeping, payroll, scheduling, compensation, absence management, security structures, and reporting/analytics
Proven systems leadership — implementation, optimization, or governance experience leading systems, not just supporting them
Advanced reporting and dashboard creation experience
Experience with HR service management or help desk workflows
Strong business systems thinking and excellent troubleshooting/process design skills
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, IT, or related field
Helpful, not required:
UKG Workforce Management, Dayforce, or UKG HCM depth
Experience with Workday, SAP, Oracle, or comparable enterprise systems
Manufacturing or operational workforce environments
Multi-module HRIS oversight, systems integration, or data architecture experience
HR process transformation track record
Prior experience working remotely with US-based HR leadership teams
