JOB OVERVIEW

THIS IS A PHONE-BASED OUTBOUND SALES ROLE. Most of your hours will be spent making live cold calls to Australian businesses. If you are looking for admin, inbox or data-entry VA work, this is not the role for you.

ABOUT US
Talent Mining & Minerals (TMM) is a Western Australian labour hire company. We supply site-ready workers to mining villages, camp service providers, civil contractors and remote operations across WA: cleaners, kitchen hands, chefs, housekeepers, utility workers, site support staff and FIFO/remote site roles.

THE ROLE
You will not be recruiting candidates. Your job is to get decision makers on the phone, introduce TMM, qualify whether they use backup or overflow labour hire, and book meetings for the owner. The pitch is low-pressure: we are not trying to replace anyone's current suppliers. We position TMM as the reliable backup option when a client needs workers at short notice. These conversations are friendlier than a hard sell, but you still need to get past gatekeepers, handle knock-backs and keep dialling.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Make outbound cold calls to Australian businesses: mining village operators, camp service providers, facilities management, civil contractors and remote site operations
- Get past gatekeepers and reach the right decision maker: operations managers, procurement, HR, village managers, workforce coordinators and business owners
- Introduce TMM and position us as a backup / overflow labour option, not a replacement for their current suppliers
- Qualify prospects: do they use labour hire, who supplies them now, where do the gaps appear, who d ----------
- Book qualified meetings directly into the owner's calendar
- Keep clean call notes and update the call sheet or CRM after every call
- Follow up persistently. Most meetings are booked on the second or third touch
- Report weekly on dials, conversations, decision makers reached and meetings booked

REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- Excellent spoken English with a clear, neutral, professional accent that Australian businesses will easily understand on the phone
- Proven B2B cold calling or outbound phone sales experience. This is not an entry-level or admin role
- Comfortable calling Australian (or UK/US/NZ) businesses and speaking with senior people
- Resilient with rejection. You can take 20 knock-backs and make the next call sound like the first
- Confident, natural phone manner. You sound like a person, not a script
- Sales mindset: you measure yourself on meetings booked, not hours logged
- Active LinkedIn profile (include the link in your application)
- Quiet workspace, reliable internet, quality headset and a backup plan for power and internet outages
- Available to work Western Australia business hours (AWST, UTC+8 – the same time zone as the Philippines, so no night shift)

NICE TO HAVE
Experience selling or setting appointments in recruitment, labour hire, staffing, construction, mining, industrial services, outsourcing/BPO, SaaS, finance, insurance or other B2B services. CRM and dialler experience valued.

PAY AND HOURS
- Part-time to start: 15 to 25 hours per week, with room to grow as results come in
- Western Australia business hours (same as Manila time)
- AUD $10 to $18 per hour depending on experience

HOW TO APPLY
Applications that skip any of these steps will not be considered. This is the first test of whether you follow a process.
1. A short cover note (max 150 words): who you have cold called before, what you were selling, and your best result
2. Your LinkedIn profile link
3. A 60-second voice recording (instructions below). Applications without a recording will not be reviewed
4. Your written answer to the call opener scenario below
5. Your available hours and your expected hourly rate in AUD

VOICE RECORDING (60 SECONDS, REQUIRED)
Go to ---------- and record yourself as if you are live on a call, then paste the share link in your application. The scenario: you have just been put through to the Operations Manager of a mining village services company in Western Australia. Introduce yourself as calling from Talent Mining & Minerals, explain in plain language that TMM provides backup and overflow labour (cleaners, kitchen hands, chefs, housekeepers and site support staff at short notice), and ask one good qualifying question about how they currently handle staffing gaps. Speak naturally. Do not read word-for-word off a script. We want to hear how you actually sound on the phone.

CALL OPENER SCENARIO (ANSWER IN WRITING)
You call a camp services company. The receptionist answers: "He's busy. What's this about?" Write, word for word, what you would say next (3 to 5 sentences max). Your goal: get put through, or come away with the decision maker's name and the best time to call back.

PAID TRIAL
Shortlisted candidates get a paid 2-hour live calling trial at the agreed hourly rate. We provide a short brief on TMM, a one-page pitch outline and 15 to 20 real Australian prospects. We assess how you open, how you handle gatekeepers, how you respond to "not interested", and whether you identify or reach the right decision maker. Booking a meeting during the trial is a bonus, not a requirement.
