JOB OVERVIEW

***This is a specialist technical role, not a general VA or entry-level position. Applications that don't directly answer the numbered questions below with specific technical experience will not be considered.

A fast-growing SaaS company is looking for a specialist to own our transactional email and SMS delivery infrastructure — built on SendGrid and Twilio.

This covers deliverability, compliance, and the plumbing that keeps messages actually landing in inboxes and phones: domain authentication, A2P 10DLC registration, webhook event handling, and troubleshooting when messages silently fail to send.
This starts as a defined fix/audit engagement. If delivery is stable after 30 days, this converts to an ongoing monthly retainer.

What you'll work on:
- SendGrid domain authentication, sender reputation, and deliverability troubleshooting
- Twilio A2P 10DLC brand/campaign registration and carrier compliance
- Webhook configuration for delivery, bounce, and reply events
- Diagnosing silent send failures across both channels
- Supporting scale as message volume grows

What you bring:
Hands-on production experience with SendGrid (domain auth, deliverability, suppression lists)
Hands-on production experience with Twilio (A2P 10DLC registration, SMS/MMS delivery, webhooks)
Understanding of email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
Comfortable reading delivery logs and carrier rejection codes to isolate root cause

Application questions:
1. Describe a deliverability issue you diagnosed and fixed. What was the root cause?
2. Walk through the A2P 10DLC registration process as you understand it — brand, campaign, and carrier approval.
3. A batch of emails shows "delivered" in SendGrid but the user says they never got it. Where do you look first?
4. Some engineers prefer working reactively when something breaks; others prefer proactively monitoring for early warning signs. Which are you, and why?

Top 3 Skills we are looking for: SendGrid, Twilio, A2P 10DLC Registration
Additional skills: Email Deliverability, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, SMS/MMS, Webhooks, API Integration, Carrier Compliance

Please let us know which skills you possess from this list!

Thanks
