We are looking for a detail-oriented PPC Account Manager to support the day-to-day management, optimization, and performance of paid advertising accounts across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and related platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple client accounts, and experienced in the ongoing maintenance required to keep PPC campaigns efficient, accurate, and performance-focused. The right candidate should be proactive, analytical, and able to identify opportunities for improvement across keywords, search terms, ad copy, placements, landing pages, tracking, and overall account structure.
Responsibilities
Account Optimization & Maintenance
* Regularly audit search terms across client accounts to identify negative keywords, new keyword opportunities, and performance trends
* Maintain MCC-level negative keyword lists, shared negative lists, and account-level negatives
* Review Display, YouTube, Demand Gen, and Performance Max placements to identify and exclude irrelevant or low-quality traffic
* Review Google Ads recommendations weekly, applying or dismissing recommendations with clear rationale
* Monitor bid strategies and make adjustments based on performance, goals, and account needs
* Manage brand safety settings, content suitability exclusions, and placement controls
* Set up, review, and monitor location extensions and other relevant ad assets
* Support general day-to-day account hygiene across multiple PPC accounts
Documentation & Process Management
* Log all PPC account changes clearly and consistently in client history/change documentation
* Record bid strategy changes, budget changes, targeting updates, exclusions, ad tests, and other optimizations
* Use task management tools to track work, deadlines, time, and account updates
* Communicate account changes and recommendations clearly to internal team members
Ad Copy & Testing
* Write and refresh Google Ads copy, including responsive search ad headlines and descriptions
* Support A/B testing of ad messaging, offers, CTAs, and landing page alignment
* Identify underperforming ads and recommend copy updates based on performance data
* Use AI tools responsibly to assist with ad copy ideation, research, and testing variations
Tracking, Lead Quality & Reporting Support
* Monitor conversion tracking and lead tracking platforms to help ensure lead data is accurate
* Review lead quality trends and help identify whether performance issues are related to traffic quality, conversion tracking, landing pages, or client-side intake
* Monitor WhatConverts or similar lead tracking platforms, including alerts, lead intelligence, and call/form data
* Assist with diagnosing conversion tracking issues in GA4, GTM, Google Ads, and related platforms
* Support enhanced conversions, offline conversion imports, and other tracking improvements when needed
Research & Strategy Support
* Review auction insights, competitor ad copy, competitor landing pages, and search results to identify opportunities
* Make landing page improvement recommendations based on UX, conversion rate optimization, message match, and lead quality
* Stay current on Google Ads updates, PPC trends, new betas, AI tools, and platform changes
* Bring proactive recommendations to improve account performance, efficiency, and scalability
Platforms & Tools
The ideal candidate should have experience with, or be comfortable learning:
* Google Ads: Search, Display, Performance Max, Shopping, YouTube, and Demand Gen
* Microsoft Ads
* Google Local Services Ads
* Google Merchant Center
* GA4 and Google Tag Manager
* WhatConverts or similar lead tracking platforms
* ClickCease or similar click fraud management tools
* Looker Studio
* Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or similar landing page behavior tools
* ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, or similar AI tools
* ClickUp or similar task management and time tracking platforms
* WordPress experience is a plus, especially for basic landing page edits
Qualifications
* Hands-on experience managing PPC accounts, preferably across multiple clients or industries
* Strong understanding of Google Ads account structure, search terms, negative keywords, match types, bidding strategies, and conversion tracking
* Experience managing or supporting multiple accounts with different budgets, goals, and industries
* Ability to analyze performance data and identify the difference between tracking issues, traffic quality issues, landing page issues, and client intake issues
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow internal processes
* Comfortable documenting changes and explaining the reasoning behind optimizations
* Strong written communication skills
* Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and stay organized across multiple accounts
* Experience with landing page optimization and conversion rate recommendations is a plus
* Experience with enhanced conversions, offline conversion imports, and advanced tracking setups is a plus
