Marketing Assistant
UK Accountancy Firm — Part-Time (2 Days/Week) — Social, SEO & Lead Generation
Employer: Astons Accountants & Business Advisors Limited (UK)
Location: Remote (Philippines-based)
Hours: Part-time — 16 hours/week (2 days), with potential to grow
Start date: As soon as possible
About us
We are a growing, well-established chartered certified accountancy practice based in St Albans, England, serving over 1,000 clients — mainly owner-managed businesses, property investors, and healthcare practices. We've doubled in size in recent years and we're now investing in consistent, professional marketing to keep that growth going.
This is a long-term part-time role with real scope to grow as the firm grows — if you do great work, there will be more hours and more responsibility available over time.
The role
You'll own the firm's marketing engine day to day: keeping our social channels active and professional, creating designs, improving how we show up on Google, running direct mail campaigns to newly formed local companies, and making sure no enquiry ever goes cold. You'll work to a monthly plan agreed with the firm's director, then execute it independently.
We're a very tech-forward firm — we have in-house tools that identify newly incorporated companies in our area, and we actively use AI in our workflows — so a lot of the raw material will be handed to you. Your job is to turn it into consistent, high-quality output.
Day-to-day responsibilities
• Social media management — planning, creating, and scheduling regular posts across LinkedIn,
• Design — creating clean, on-brand graphics in Canva for social posts, mailshots, client guides, and campaigns
• Lead follow-up — logging every new enquiry, sending prompt follow-up
• SEO — improving our website's search visibility: keyword research, on-page optimisation, writing and publishing blog content, and local SEO for the St Albans and Hertfordshire area
• Google Business Profile — keeping our Google page fully optimised: regular posts, photos, Q&A, and running review-generation campaigns to grow our 5-star reviews
• New company mailshots — running our direct mail campaign to newly formed companies in the local area — preparing the mailing lists from our in-house tool, personalising letters, and tracking response rates
•
• Reporting — a simple monthly report: what went out, what it achieved (followers, enquiries, rankings, reviews), and what's planned next
Working hours
This role is 16 hours per week, worked across 2–4 days — we're flexible on the exact pattern. Most of the work can be done on your own schedule, but we'd like at least a few hours of overlap with UK business hours (UK is 7–8 hours behind the Philippines) each week for catch-up calls and same-day lead follow-up.
Must-have requirements
• 2+ years' marketing experience — ideally supporting UK businesses, professional services experience is a big plus
• Strong Canva skills — you can produce clean, professional, on-brand designs quickly
• Hands-on SEO experience — keyword research, on-page optimisation, and content writing; you can show us pages or posts you've ranked
• Google Business Profile experience — you've managed and grown a business's Google presence and reviews
• Excellent written English — you'll write posts, blogs,
• Organised and consistent — marketing only works when it ships every week; you deliver to a calendar without being chased
• Reliable home office setup — fast, stable internet, a modern computer, and a quiet working environment
Nice to have (but not essential)
• Experience marketing for an accountancy firm, law firm, or other professional services business
•
• Social scheduling tools (Buffer, Hootsuite, Metricool, or similar)
• Basic video editing for short-form content (Reels, LinkedIn video)
• Google Analytics / Search Console experience
• Experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to work more efficiently — we actively encourage this
What we offer
• Reliable monthly salary, paid on time, every time
• Long-term, stable role — not a one-off project
• Genuine autonomy — you'll own the marketing function, not just take orders
• Room to grow — more hours and responsibility as the firm grows
• A tech-forward team with in-house tools and AI workflows that make your job easier
