I run the editing for several brands: a health & wellness client, my own brand, and other clients. I'm looking for one dedicated editor to help across my editing workflows: a mix of project types and video formats.
The base work is short-form video clip editing (vertical 9:16, cut from long-form footage and streams). Over time, my plan is for you to grow into full long-form editing as well. As things scale, the clipping may get outsourced again and you'd focus more on long-form, so this role keeps growing.
You'd be the one editor I build a workflow with, long-term. I want someone to grow with.
This is NOT a "clipper" job. Even the clipping work needs a real editor with an eye. Cutting a clip well means the audio feels natural, full word-endings, clean spacing, pacing that flows, background noise removed, consistent loudness. If your work is slapping captions onto soundbites in CapCut, this isn't for you. If you genuinely care how an edit feels, keep reading.
Why this role is different (please read!)
This is a creative craft position, not a volume seat. You'll work directly under an experienced video director and learn a real editor's eye: pacing, listenability, how to make a talking-head cut feel human instead of machine-made. My standard is high (even on "simple" cuts) and I'll teach you how to hit it, one skill at a time. The job isn't cranking out the most clips; it's producing consistently excellent work every month.
If you want to be pushed and grow into a genuinely skilled editor, this is a rare seat. If you want to run untouched templates fast, it isn't.
What you'll do
- Edit 80–100 short-form clips/month + 5–10 fuller edited videos (b-roll, motion graphics, color)
- Follow a documented brand style: fonts, caption animation, hook style, all provided
- Use Opus Clip (Pro, provided) to help select
- Clean audio in DaVinci (noise removal, consistent loudness)
- Deliver to a shared Google Drive folder
- Grow into long-form editing over time
Must have
- DaVinci Resolve - required. It's what I edit in, so we share projects and workflow directly. (Premiere-only applicants, please don't apply for this one.)
- A genuine editor's eye for pacing and audio - show me you can make a talking-head cut feel natural
- Strong written and spoken English (there's a short video call)
- Reliable, self-directed, full-time availability
- Ability to grow - you start on clips and move into long-form
- Capable dedicated video editing computer
- Stable internet at your workstation/home to upload & download media
Nice to have
- Motion graphics / color grading
- Experience with health, wellness, or personal-brand content
Pay & structure
- $1,200/month retainer to start - paid weekly for the first month, then twice a month
- Grows to $1,500/month as you take on long-form editing and prove the quality
- A stable, long-term seat. I want one editor to grow with, not a rotating door.
How to apply - read carefully (this filters out mass-appliers)
1. Start your application with the word `ELEVATE` so I know you actually read this.
2. Send your portfolio - link both short-form and any long-form / talking-head work.
3. In 2–3 sentences, tell me: what makes a clip feel good to you? I want your taste, not a résumé.
Applicants who pass this get an invitation to short intro call, then a Loom video walkthrough task, then a small paid test ($5/clip - I pay for your time) before hire.
Looking forward to finding the right editor.
