JOB OVERVIEW

Website & Email Marketing Manager

Squarespace | HubSpot | HTML/CSS/JavaScript | Technical SEO
Full-Time | Remote | Long-Term

About Us

We are a small, family-owned business looking for a Website & Email Marketing Manager to become an important part of our team for years to come.

This is not an agency role where you will manage random tasks for many different clients. You will work directly with the owners and our small marketing team to help grow one business with care, consistency, and long-term thinking.

We already have a dedicated social content team focused on short-form video, graphics, captions, publishing, and visual storytelling.

Our Growth Marketing Manager focuses on growth strategy, Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO strategy, funnel strategy, analytics, reporting, and optimization recommendations.

Your role is to own our website and email marketing execution. You will develop, edit, build, publish, test, track, and continually improve our website pages, blog posts, landing pages, email programs, forms, workflows, automations, and customer journey messaging.

Our email programs are currently supported in HubSpot, so experience building emails, workflows, lists, forms, segments, and dashboards in HubSpot is important.

This is not a social content creation role and it is not a graphic design role. We work with a designer on a project basis when needed. Your focus is website, email, HubSpot, copy execution, technical SEO implementation, QA, tracking, dashboards, and ongoing improvement.

About the Role

Our website is built in Squarespace. Our forms, email programs, workflows, lead nurturing, tracking, and dashboards are currently managed through HubSpot.

This is not simply a publishing role.

You are responsible for turning business priorities, campaign goals, SEO direction, customer journey needs, notes, offers, and ideas into clear, polished, functional website and email experiences.

The Growth Marketing Manager may identify content opportunities, SEO priorities, campaign needs, email flow gaps, audience segments, and conversion opportunities based on data and performance.

From there, you own the execution.

Sometimes you may receive a full draft. Other times you may receive notes, a goal, an offer, a keyword, or a customer question that needs to be addressed. Your job is to turn that direction into strong website or email copy that is clear, accurate, on-brand, conversion-focused, built correctly, tested, tracked, and ready to publish.

We do not view our website as something that gets redesigned every few years. We view it as a living product that should be continually improved, tested, refined, measured, and optimized.

How This Role Fits With the Team

Social Content Team owns: short-form video, social posts, captions, graphics, and publishing.

Growth Marketing Manager owns: growth strategy, SEO strategy, paid ads, funnel recommendations, analytics, and performance direction.

Website & Email Marketing Manager owns: website and email execution, copy development, publishing, HubSpot builds, technical SEO implementation, QA, tracking, dashboards, and ongoing improvements.

Together, these roles create a complete marketing system where content builds awareness, growth marketing drives qualified traffic, and your work converts and nurtures that traffic into customers.

Responsibilities

Website & Email Copy
• Develop website and email copy from strategy, notes, drafts, AI-assisted copy, campaign goals, SEO direction, or owner direction
• Write and edit landing page copy, website sections, FAQs, blog posts, and email campaigns
• Turn rough ideas, offers, keywords, or customer questions into polished website and email copy
• Create email subject lines, preview text, headlines, body copy, buttons, and calls to action
• Improve website and email copy for clarity, SEO, readability, and conversion
• Maintain consistency across website pages, FAQs, policies, offers, email flows, and calls to action
• Flag content that feels unclear, outdated, inconsistent, duplicated, inaccurate, or off-brand

Squarespace Website Management
• Build, update, and maintain pages in Squarespace
• Publish and format website pages, blog posts, landing pages, and FAQs
• Implement custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript when needed
• Build custom website sections beyond Squarespace’s standard editor
• Create polished landing pages for campaigns, events, promotions, and lead generation
• Improve mobile responsiveness, navigation, layout, and user experience
• Optimize calls to action and conversion paths
• Troubleshoot website issues and bugs
• Write clean, organized, responsive code that can be maintained over time
• Test custom code before publishing

Blog Publishing & SEO Content

The Growth Marketing Manager may recommend blog topics, keywords, and content opportunities based on SEO strategy. Your role is to develop, publish, optimize, polish, and maintain that content.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop blog content from approved topics, notes, drafts, keywords, customer questions, or AI-assisted copy
• Edit blog content for clarity, structure, SEO, readability, and conversion
• Publish blog articles in Squarespace
• Add internal links, optimized images, alt text, meta titles, and meta descriptions
• Use custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript when needed to create more polished blog layouts
• Implement Article schema when appropriate
• Refresh and maintain existing blog content over time

You are not expected to own the full SEO content strategy. The Growth Marketing Manager may identify the search opportunity, topic, keyword, or funnel need. You should be able to develop and improve the actual website and blog copy from that direction.

Technical SEO Implementation
• Implement on-page SEO updates
• Optimize page titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, internal links, and URL structure
• Implement redirects when needed
• Improve crawlability and indexing
• Support page speed and Core Web Vitals improvements where possible
• Compress and optimize images before publishing
• Implement schema markup and structured data, including Local Business, Organization, Event, FAQ, Article, and Breadcrumb schema
• Review Google Search Console issues and support fixes when needed

Website QA & Content Consistency
• Regularly audit the website to ensure content is accurate, current, and consistent
• Review FAQs to ensure answers are accurate and aligned across the site
• Check that pricing, policies, room details, event information, contact information, and calls to action are consistent
• Identify broken links, formatting issues, missing images, mobile issues, and user experience problems
• Maintain a running website improvement backlog
• QA every website update across desktop, tablet, and mobile before publishing
• Confirm forms, links, tracking, and HubSpot connections work correctly after updates

Email
Program & HubSpot Automation

You will help build and maintain a thoughtful email program currently supported in HubSpot, not just send occasional newsletters.

The email program should support the full customer journey, including first inquiry, follow-up, nurture, booking, event attendance, re-engagement, and future opportunities.

Responsibilities include:
• Build and maintain email programs currently supported in HubSpot
• Create email campaigns, nurture sequences, confirmation emails, RSVP flows, promotional emails, newsletters, and re-engagement emails
• Build the supporting HubSpot workflows, lists, forms, segments, and dashboards needed to track and improve performance
• Segment lists in HubSpot based on source, behavior, customer type, lifecycle stage, and engagement
• Manage HubSpot forms and connect them to the correct lists, workflows, thank-you pages, and follow-up steps
• Test email formatting, links, buttons, personalization tokens, forms, lists, workflow logic, and enrollment criteria
• Monitor email performance and recommend improvements

HubSpot Tracking, Dashboards & Reporting

We need our website and email activity tracked clearly in HubSpot so we can understand where leads come from, what they engage with, and how they move through the customer journey.

Responsibilities include:
• Make sure website forms are properly connected to HubSpot
• Track form submissions by source, page, campaign, and customer type
• Ensure landing pages, thank-you pages, emails, and workflows are connected correctly
• Support HubSpot tracking for website activity, email engagement, and lead behavior
• Help set up lead source tracking and attribution where possible
• Build and maintain HubSpot lists, segments, and dashboards
• Track email open rates, click rates, form submissions, workflow performance, and conversion activity
• Work with the Growth Marketing Manager to make sure reporting data is clean, useful, and actionable
• Flag gaps where tracking is missing, broken, unclear, or not useful

Campaign & Launch Support

For campaigns, events, seasonal promotions, wedding showcases, offers, or new experiences, you will help build the digital infrastructure and messaging needed to support the launch.

This may include:
• Campaign landing pages
• Landing page copy
• HubSpot forms
• Thank-you pages
• Confirmation emails
• Automated follow-up sequences
• Website banners
• Event RSVP flows
• Tracking links and UTM parameters
• Post-campaign email follow-up

Reporting

Each week, you will provide a concise update covering:
• Website updates completed
• Landing pages built
• Blog posts published
• Website copy improved
Email copy developed
Email campaigns launched
Email sequences built or improved
• HubSpot workflows created or improved
• HubSpot forms created or improved
• HubSpot tracking or dashboard updates
• Website issues identified and fixed
• SEO and schema updates implemented
• Form submissions and form conversion performance
Email open rates and click-through rates
• Landing page performance
• Recommendations for future improvements

We do not want simple task updates only. We want thoughtful recommendations.

• Skilled at website publishing, QA, and troubleshooting
