About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Wiring Harness Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing and developing wiring harness solutions for automotive applications, ensuring designs are practical, manufacturable and easy to integrate into production.
Working closely with Engineering and Production, you will play a key role in developing high-quality wiring harnesses, maintaining technical documentation and resolving design and installation challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop automotive wiring harness layouts for new and existing products.
* Produce, maintain and update wiring harness drawings and engineering documentation.
* Develop and validate technical Bills of Materials (BOMs) for wiring harness assemblies.
* Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to ensure harness designs are practical, reliable and easy to manufacture and install.
* Investigate and resolve wiring harness installation, integration and production issues.
* Support prototype builds, product improvements and engineering change processes.
* Ensure engineering documentation remains accurate and up to date.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of wiring harness design standards and processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Experience designing and developing automotive wiring harnesses.
* Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and wiring principles.
* Experience producing and validating wiring harness drawings and technical BOMs.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve harness integration and installation issues.
* Experience using CAD or ECAD software to create and maintain engineering documentation.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering and production teams.
