JOB OVERVIEW

Australian Tax Accountant Wanted
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our growing Australian tax accounting firm.
This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in Australian tax compliance and a genuine passion for helping business clients stay on top of their obligations while identifying tax-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and lodge quarterly BAS for multiple client groups
• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, self-managed super funds, and individuals
• Ensure full compliance with Australian tax legislation and ATO requirements
• Utilise Xero Tax and BGL software efficiently and accurately
• Liaise with clients to gather information, clarify queries, and provide professional guidance

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Australian tax accounting firm
• Strong understanding of Australian income tax, GST, CGT, and SMSF compliance
• Proficiency in Xero Tax, BGL, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• CPA or CA qualified, or currently working towards qualification (preferred)

Additional Attributes (Preferred)
• Experience managing budgets or client portfolios
• Prior managerial or team leadership experience
• A genuine interest in managing people and ambition to grow into a Team Leader role
