JOB OVERVIEW

Stack Growth Solutions is a US fractional CFO and advisory firm serving private equity and private credit backed companies. We are hiring a part time lead research and scraping specialist. You will work directly with the firm's owner.

This is a research-heavy seat, not a volume-scraping seat. Our market is small and sophisticated: independent sponsors, search fund acquirers, lower middle market private equity firms, business owners who just closed acquisitions or debt raises, and lenders. Finding them cannot be done with keyword scrapes or purchased lists. It requires reading profiles, deal announcements, and press coverage, understanding private equity vocabulary, and judging whether a person actually closed deals or just talks about them. We will give you a detailed written client profile with qualifiers and disqualifiers. Your job is to apply it with judgment, build clean lead lists with verified contact information, and load each lead into the right outreach campaign. Some leads are worked on LinkedIn, others by email, so every lead needs the right contact channel found. You do not handle replies; all responses route to the owner.

You will own:
- Sourcing leads from LinkedIn, Searchfunder, deal announcements, trade press, press releases, SBA and SBIC data, state filings, and wherever else the signal lives, against our written client profile
- Custom scraping: pulling targeted lists from sources that do not offer clean exports, using whatever combination of tools, scrapers, and manual digging the source requires
- Finding and verifying contact information: work emails, direct LinkedIn profiles, company details, with verification so bounce rates stay low
- Qualifying every lead against explicit disqualifier rules, with the specific signal documented for each one
- Writing two-line personalized openers referencing each lead's specific deal or announcement
- Loading leads into the correct outreach campaign by segment (we will train you on our tools)
- Maintaining the lead tracker so the owner can audit any lead, its source, and its signal in seconds

The bar:
- 2+ years in B2B lead research, list building, or data scraping for US clients
- Proven custom scraping skill: you can pull a clean, structured list from a messy source, and you will be asked to walk through exactly how you have done it
- Strong at contact discovery and email verification: you know the tools and techniques for finding a verified work email when it is not listed anywhere obvious
- You can explain, in your own words, what an independent sponsor is, what a search fund is, and what lower middle market private equity means. This will be tested in the interview.
- Excellent written English; your openers go to CEOs and investors without editing
- Meticulous and honest: a lead you cannot justify is a lead you do not submit
- Security-minded: you will work inside accounts we provision, never share access, and sign an NDA
- At least 2 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern time

Process: application, short interview, paid test project. We give you the client profile document and pay for 2 hours: deliver 10-20 STRONG leads with segment assignments, documented signals, verified contact information, and openers. The test is scored on qualification accuracy and contact quality, not volume. Begin your application with the word SIGNAL.

To apply, answer the following in your cover letter. Answers without specifics will not be considered.
- Describe the most difficult lead list you have ever built: the criteria, the sources, how you qualified each lead, and how the client measured quality.
- Describe a custom scrape you built from a source with no clean export: the source, the tools or methods you used, and what the final dataset looked like.
- How do you find a verified work email for a business owner whose email is not published anywhere? Walk through your actual process and tools.
- In your own words, what is the difference between a private equity firm and an independent sponsor?
- Write a two-line opener to the CEO of a landscaping company that announced an acquisition last week. Write it as if sending it.
- A lead looks close to the client profile but you cannot find a specific qualifying signal. What do you do?
